    Candidtes who have scored between 85 - 90 in the CLAT 2026 exam might get a CLAT rank between 600 - 1000. Within this range, some top-tier NLUs have accepted candidates in previous years. The Consortium of National Law Universities will start the CLAT 2026 counselling process by publishing the first allotment list on January 7, 2026. They send an SMS or email to all eligible candidates after the CLAT 2026 results are declared. Candidates must register for the counseling within the deadline.     NLUs at CLAT 2026 Rank 600-1000 for SC & ST Category

    Candidates from the SC category have only one NLU accepting at CLAT 2026 rank of 600 - 1000. GNLU Gandhinagar has accepted candidates at an opening rank of 974 in the previous year’s CLAT counselling. However, the closing rank went to 5934. GNLU is a top-tier NLU, and obtaining a seat here is a great opportunity.

    ST students also have a single NLU option within the CLAT 2026 rank range. NLSIU Bengaluru offered students a seat with an opening rank of 678 and closed at 3396. NLSIU Bengaluru, one of the top NLUs, which ave been consistently ranked at number 1 in the NIRF 2025 rankings for the past few years.

    CLAT 2026 Counselling

    The CLAT 2026 first allotment list is scheduled to be released on January 7, 2026. Candidates can check the official website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Those who are shortlisted can use the freeze, float, or exit option in the process. If a candidate has chosen the freeze or float option, then they must pay the confirmation fee of INR 20,000. This amount is adjusted later in the university fees. The registrations for the CLAT counselling 2026 started on December 17, 2025, and closed on December 27, 2025.
