The CLAT 2027 registration will open in August 2026, the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has confirmed to Careers360. It further informed that the detailed admission notification, including the eligibility criteria, application fee, registration procedure and other important instructions, will be uploaded on the official CLAT website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in, tentatively on or before August 2026. The commencement of registrations will begin the CLAT 2027 admission cycle for UG and PG law programmes offered by 26 NLUs and IIULER Goa. Candidates planning to appear for CLAT 2027 should keep the required application documents ready.

Candidates must meet the CLAT 2027 eligibility criteria before filling out the application form. The Consortium of NLUs is expected to notify the detailed eligibility requirements along with the official admission notification in August 2026. Based on the previous admission cycle, the expected eligibility criteria are given below:
Candidates must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board.
General, OBC, PWD, NRI, PIO and OCI candidates must secure at least 45% marks in the qualifying examination.
SC and ST candidates must obtain a minimum of 40% marks or an equivalent grade.
Candidates appearing for the Class 12 examination in 2027 are also eligible to apply. However, they must produce proof of passing the qualifying examination during the admission process.
There is no upper age limit for appearing in CLAT 2027.
Candidates must possess an LLB degree (3-year or 5-year) or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Bar Council of India.
General, OBC, PWD, NRI, PIO and OCI candidates must secure at least 50% marks in the qualifying examination.
SC and ST candidates must obtain at least 45% marks or an equivalent grade.
Candidates appearing in the final year of their LLB programme are also eligible to apply. They must submit proof of passing the qualifying examination at the time of admission.
There is no upper age limit for CLAT PG 2027.
Candidates must keep the documents ready before filling the CLAT online application form 2027:
Passport Photograph: Scanned recent colour photo in JPG format sized between 20 KB and 50 KB.
Candidate signature: Scanned clear signature on white paper in JPG format sized between 10 KB and 20 KB.
Academic certificates: High-resolution Class 10, Class 12, or LLB marksheets in PDF format up to 1.5 MB.
Reservation documents: Government-issued SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PwD, or Domicile certificates in PDF format up to 1.5 MB.
Contact details: Active mobile number for OTP authentication and a valid email ID.
Candidates will be required to complete the CLAT 2027 application process online through the official CLAT admission portal. The application process consists of the following steps:
Go to the official CLAT website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in, once the registration window opens.
Register using a valid mobile number and email ID.
Verify the registered credentials through OTP.
Log in to the portal using the generated registration credentials.
Fill in personal, communication and academic details.
Attach clear, scanned copies of passport photo, signature, and category certificates in the prescribed format.
Choose the specific law programme preference between CLAT UG and CLAT PG.
Pay the required application fee online using UPI, Net Banking, or Credit/Debit cards.
Submit the application form and download the confirmation page for future reference.
