What is CLAT Consortium?

The Consortium of National Law Universities is a permanent group of 26 national law universities. The consortium of NLUs was created in August 2017 and since its inception, it has evolved into a well-organised and transparent organisation. The CLAT consortium also takes steps to reform the examination scheme and NLU admission process from time to time. For example, in 2020, the consortium announced that CLAT will be a test of reading and critical thinking skills. It also reduced the number of questions from 150 to 120 in CLAT UG from CLAT 2024 onwards.

CLAT 2026 application form and eligibility

The official website mentions the eligibility criteria for both CLAT 5-year LLB and CLAT LLM programmes. The CLAT eligibility criteria 2026 are expressed in terms of the educational qualification and minimum marks required in the qualifying exam. The CLAT UG eligibility criteria are different from CLAT PG eligibility criteria. In CLAT UG, candidates are required to have passed Class 12th whereas, CLAT PG, being a graduate-level test requires 3-year graduation or equivalent degree as educational qualification. NEET ( National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is a national level examination for admission in undergraduate medical courses. In CLAT , the 9-digit admit card number is not the same as the roll number you have to write on the OMR sheet. The OMR sheet has only 7 blocks because the CLAT roll number is shorter.

You should check your admit card again and look for the roll number printed near your name and exam details. Fill only that roll number in the OMR sheet. Do not write the 9-digit admit card number.

If you still cannot find the roll number, you can ask the exam invigilator on the exam day.
