    Is 60 a Good Score in CLAT 2026?

    The majority of students score between 60 and 65 in the CLAT exam. This score generally is equivalent to a rank of around 14,000 to 18,000. Candidates generally have few National Law Universities (NLUs) options within this range. However, students from certain reserved categories might be able to get into NLUs with a CLAT score of 60. Additionally, there are private law colleges accepting candidates with a low CLAT score. This article details whether 60 is a good score in CLAT 2026 to get into NLUs.

    NLUs for General and EWS Category at 60 Marks

    Based on the previous year’s CLAT cut-offs, General category candidates do not get accepted at NLUs with 60 marks. The cut-offs are comparatively higher for this category and would require a score of 90+. EWS category students can get accepted at MNLU Nagpur for its BA LLB program. The opening rank for EWS was around 7,863, while the closing rank was 16,868. Other NLUs require higher ranks for admission.

    NLUs for OBC at CLAT 60 Marks

    Candidates from the OBC category have a few pathways with a rank range between 14,000 and 18,000. They can secure a spot in the BBA LLB program at MNLU Aurangabad, as the opening rank is within the range. Additionally, the closing ranks for both the BA LLB and BBA LLB courses at MNLU Nagpur align with a CLAT score of about 60.

    SC category candidates have comparatively more options. MNLU Nagpur, NUAL Kochi, BNLU Patna and more have welcomed students with this score. Candidates must fill out the preference list smartly to get into the preferred NLUs.

    NLUs Accepting Around 60 Marks for ST

    ST candidates have a better chance at getting admission in NLU with a CLAT score of around 60. For example, CNLU Patna has an opening rank of 16829. However, candidates can get into a few NLUs that have had a closing rank ranging from 15000 - 19000.

    i have to give clat 2027 but when my result came i got rt in additional subject but overall pass then i gave improvement exam and passed it and have 2 marksheet 1 containing 6 subject marks and written rt in additional subject and in second its just marks of maths am i eligible for nlu admissision

    For CLAT 2027 UG, candidates need to have passed Class 12/equivalent with at least 45% marks, or 40% for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
