The Consortium will release the RGNUL Patiala 2026 merit list on its official website - consortiumofnlus.ac.in.The merit list of RGNUL Patiala and other CLAT participating institutes will be released in five rounds. The first RGNUL Patiala 2026 merit list will be released one week after the CLAT counselling registration is closed. The university will also publish the institute-level RGNUL 2026 merit list in case there are vacant seats after the completion of the centralised CLAT 2026 counselling. The RGNUL Patiala merit list PDF will include the All India rank of the candidates, category, admit card number, and admission status.

The consortium will conduct the Common Law Admission Test on December 7, 2025. The RGNUL merit list 2026 will be prepared based on the candidate’s scores in CLAT 2026 for admission into the 5-year LLB and LLM programmes of the RGNUL Patiala University. The round-wise CLAT cut-off for RGNUL Patiala will be available in the merit list. The RGNUL Patiala cut-off 2026 is expressed in terms of the rank of the last candidate admitted into the university from a particular category.

Candidates listed in the merit list of RGNUL Patiala for each round of counselling must follow the steps given below to gain CLAT seat allotment. After the fifth round of the admissions counselling process, the central admission process conducted by the Consortium will be closed.
The candidates included in the merit list are required to select either - freeze/float/exit option.
The ‘freeze’ option allows candidates to confirm their allotted seat at the university if it aligns with their preference.
Whereas the ‘float’ option can be used by candidates who are not satisfied with their seat allocation and wish to secure a seat at a higher-preference NLU.
Candidates who wish to leave the admission process can choose the ‘exit’ option.
To select either freeze/float option, aspirants need to pay the confirmation fee of Rs 20,000.
Finally, the candidates must then complete the payment of the remaining university fees within the prescribed period.

According to the RGNUL Patiala 2025 CLAT cut-off marks, general category candidates planning to get into RGNUL Patiala, must have a closing mark of around 1280.
The Consortium releases the CLAT cut-off in multiple rounds at the start of each counselling round.
After the CLAT counselling, any vacant seats left at RGNUL Patiala or any other NLUs, will lead to institute-level counselling.

It is also conducted by NTA but in offline mode as in pen and paper test. In CLAT , the 9-digit admit card number is not the same as the roll number you have to write on the OMR sheet. The OMR sheet has only 7 blocks because the CLAT roll number is shorter.
You should check your admit card again and look for the roll number printed near your name and exam details. Fill only that roll number in the OMR sheet. Do not write the 9-digit admit card number.
If you still cannot find the roll number, you can ask the exam invigilator on the exam day.
