The CLAT 2025 exam scores are used by over 24 national law universities across the country. Among these are India’s top national law universities, NLSIU Bangalore. The university has been ranked as the best law college consistently since the NIRF Law rankings were announced. Now, NLSIU Bangalore has announced an increase in the seat intake for the BA LLB course. The university has raised BA LLB seats from 300 to 310.
Since the announcement of the Expansion and Inclusion Plan in 2021, NLSIU has increased the BA LLB seats every year. The university aims to reach a projected size of over 2,200 students in the following manner;
5-year BA LLB. – 1500 students
LL.M. – 120 students
MPP – 240 students
Now as per the latest CLAT notification released on the official website of the NLU Consortium, the university has again increased the BA LLB intake by 10 seats. These seats are however being offered only to Karnataka State students in addition to domicile seats that are already reserved. This further opens the university for students and provides an opportunity to study in the top law school of India.

SC | 45 |
ST | 23 |
OBC NCL | 82 |
EWS | 30 |
Additional seats for Karnataka students | 10 |

NLS Bangalore is one of the most sought law universities in India. The university was established in 1986 and it started the 5-year integrated LLB course in India for the first time. Being the top choice among the students, NLS Bangalore cut-offs in CLAT 2025 will go very high.
A general category candidate is required to secure 100+ marks in CLAT 2025 to get admission to NLSIU Bangalore. Even the NLSIU Bangalore cut off for OBC and EWS has remained below 1000. The OBC cut-offs for NLSIU roughly translates to 90-91 marks
If one looks at the NLSIU merit lists of previous years, one would notice that of the top 100 students, 85% of students are admission to NLSIU Bangalore.
The category-wise cut-offs for NLSIU Bangalore are given below.

Among others accepting CLAT 2025 score this year include some of the prominent law schools such as NALSAR Hyderabad, WBNUJS Kolkata, NLU Jodhpur and GNLU Gandhinagar. The CLAT scores will also be used by over 60 law schools across the country.
Currently, CLAT is conducted in various cities across India, but as of now, there are no official test centers outside India, including in the UAE. Students residing abroad typically need to travel to India to appear for the exam. However, rules and centers may change in future, so I suggest keeping an eye on the official CLAT Consortium website, especially when the 2026 notification is released. If traveling to India is challenging, you can plan your trip in advance around the exam date. Also, for NRI or NRI-sponsored seats in Indian law colleges, some universities may have a different selection process that doesn’t require CLAT, so you can explore those options too.
Thank you,

Hello,
For CLAT PG 2026, if you aim for top NLUs like NALSAR, NLSIU and WBNUJS, a score of around 75+ marks (rank within 100 ) is generally good for the general category
Cut-offs change every year, so try to score as high as possible for a better chance.
Hope it helps !
Hello Aspirant,
No, you cannot use EWS certificate issued to your father in your name. In CLAT, EWS certificate is to be issued in the name of a candidate on the basis of family income and assets even if you are a minor. Since you are under 18, the certificate will still have your details but it will take your family income (with your father) into consideration. You will need to apply for your own EWS certificate through the local authority pre counselling.
