To estimate the score using the AIBE 20 provisional answer key, follow this detailed process:
Compare the answers: Begin by matching each answer that the candidate marked on the OMR sheet with the corresponding correct answer provided in the provisional answer key.
Count correct answers: For every question where the candidate's response matches the official answer, count one mark.
No negative marking: The AIBE does not penalise wrong or unanswered questions. Therefore, incorrect or unattempted questions neither add nor subtract from the score.
Calculate the total score: The final score is simply the sum of all correct responses. For example, if the candidate answered 75 questions correctly, the final score will be 75 out of 100.
Candidates must meet the minimum qualifying marks to pass AIBE 20 and obtain the Certificate of Practice (CoP):
Category | Qualifying marks | Percentage |
General/OBC | 45 | 45% |
SC/ST/PwD | 40 | 40% |
If the candidate finds any issues with the provisional answer key, here is how to raise objections:
Log in to the official website using the registration credentials
Select the question set (A/B/C/D) and the question number that the candidate wants to challenge
Upload supporting evidence justifying the objection
Pay the objection fee of Rs 500 per question online (refunded if the objection is accepted by the Bar Council)

The Bar Council of India will release the final answer key after considering all valid objections. Once the final key is published, candidates can no longer challenge the answers. The final key is then used to prepare the official results.
The AIBE 20 results will be declared shortly after the final answer key release and made available on the official website. Passing the exam is essential to obtain the Certificate of Practice, which allows candidates to legally practice law in India.
