The BCI has started the AIBE 22 (XXII) opened the AIBE 22 regsistration window on August 19, 2026. BCI has announced the AIBE 22 exam schedule on its official website, allindiabarexamination.com. They have published the exam notification, which includes the AIBE 22 exam date, application form, deadline and more details. The AIBE 22 exam date is November 29, 2026.
Earlier this year, the Bar Council of India officially informed the Supreme Court that the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) will be conducted twice a year. The exam is conducted offline, in pen-and-paper mode across various test centres around the country. The decision to conduct AIBE twice a year will give law graduates more opportunities to qualify for the mandatory exam to practice law in India.

The AIBE 22 application form is released on August 19, 2026. The last date to apply for the AIBE 21 exam is October 27, 2026. The application correction window will be open till October 30, 2026. Candidates must apply before the deadline on the official website of AIBE.
The AIBE 22 exam assesses candidates on law subjects as well as professional ethics. Candidates need to check the official AIBE 22 notification from BCI for any updates regarding the changes in the exam syllabus or format.

The admit card for AIBE 22 will be issued on November 14, 2026. Candidates can download the hall ticket on the official website. It is a mandatory document to carry on the exam day. For AIBE XXI, the admit card was available on May 22, 2026, and the exam was conducted on June 7, 2026.
Candidates who will pass the AIBE 22 will be eligible to obtain the Certificate of Practice (CoP) from the Bar Council of India. This CoP permits advocates to practice law in India. BCI issues the CoP after the results are declared. Candidates must keep their enrolment details and other documents ready.

No. If you are currently in the 5th semester of a 3-year LL.B., you generally cannot register for AIBE yet.
Under the current BCI rules, a 3-year LL.B. student must be in the final semester (6th semester) and have no backlogs from previous semesters to register for AIBE.
