The CLAT 2026 vacant seats admission process has expanded further across several NLUs. Recently, GNLU Gandhinagar announced its vacant seats notification with two general category seats (1 Women, 1 General Open). Before this DBRANLU Sonepat released a vacant seats notification for its BA LLB (Hons.) programme. The university has announced 17 vacant seats, including 15 seats under the All India category and 2 seats under the Haryana category. Fresh notifications have also been released recently by NLIU Bhopal, MNLU Nagpur, RMLNLU Lucknow, NLU Jodhpur, Gujarat National Law University (Silvassa Campus), NUSRL Ranchi, DSNLU Visakhapatnam, MNLU Mumbai and IIULER Goa. Candidates who could not secure admission through the five rounds of CLAT counselling 2026 can apply directly to these universities under their respective vacant seats or spot admission rounds.

Among the notified vacancies, MNLU Sambhajinagar has reported the highest number of vacant UG seats (46), followed by HPNLU Shimla (42), MNLU Nagpur (41), RPNLU Prayagraj (37), MPDNLU Jabalpur (32), NLU Odisha (22), DSNLU Visakhapatnam (21), GNLU Silvassa Campus (20), HNLU Raipur (19), and DBRANLU Sonepat (17). Admissions are being conducted independently by each university. Candidates can apply directly to each university's website using the Google Forms given in this article.

Candidates seeking admission through CLAT 2026 vacant seats and spot round admissions must satisfy the eligibility conditions prescribed by the respective National Law Universities. Since each NLU conducts its own admission process, the eligibility criteria can differ from one university to another. However, the general eligibility requirements are given below:
Candidates must have appeared for CLAT 2026.
Applicants must possess a valid CLAT 2026 All India Rank (AIR).
Candidates must satisfy the category-wise eligibility criteria specified by the concerned NLU.
Reserved category candidates can claim reservation benefits only if the category was selected in the original CLAT 2026 application form.
Candidates applying under domicile quotas must possess the required domicile certificate, wherever applicable.
Applicants must fulfil all conditions mentioned in the vacant seats admission notification of the concerned NLU.
Admission will be offered on the basis of CLAT 2026 rank, category, seat availability, and merit.

Candidates who have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board and appeared for CLAT 2026 are eligible to apply for vacant seats admissions, subject to the specific eligibility requirements of the respective NLU.
Admission to CLAT vacant seats is conducted separately by each NLU. Universities prepare merit lists based on CLAT 2026 ranks and category-wise eligibility.
