    Team Careers360Updated on 15 Sep 2026, 09:28 AM IST

Class 12 board exam preparations along with CLAT 2027 can seem tough, as both demand regular study and revision. But there is no need to study for CLAT 2027 and the board separately. There is a way in which preparing for one would prepare for the other too.

CLAT 2027 Study Plan with Class 12 Board
CLAT 2027 Study Plan with Class 12 Board

A good CLAT 2027 preparation plan for Class 12 students would focus on the board subjects while preparing for CLAT 2027 in a consistent manner throughout the year. It is important not to overload yourself in your daily routine and distribute your time according to the academic calendar.

It has been announced by the Consortium of NLUs that students who would be giving their Class 12 qualifying examination in March/April 2027 would be able to appear for CLAT 2027, but they will have to show proof of passing the qualifying examination at the time of admission.

Can You Prepare for CLAT 2027 Along With Class 12 Boards?

Yes, in fact, studying for CLAT and Class 12 at the same time would be an advantage since several skills needed for CLAT, like reading, vocabulary, general awareness, and analysis, might become useful. Students can also check for which newspaper should you read for CLAT 2027.

Yet, at no point must one make the blunder of concentrating on CLAT only. Class 12 scores are essential for your academic records, and CLAT preparation needs continuous practice for a longer duration of time.

Hence, the optimal strategy would be to keep up with CLAT preparation through normal academic periods and concentrate on boards as the date of board exams approaches.

How to Balance CLAT and Boards?

The easiest means of dealing with both of these tasks is to categorise your preparation into three stages:

The best way to deal with both of these things together is to arrange your preparation in the following three stages:

    Stage 1: School Months

This stage must basically include focusing on the Class 12 curriculum and spending 2-3 hours daily on CLAT 2027 preparation.

    Use short sessions for:

Do not try to cover the complete CLATsyllabus in a few weeks' time. Persistence works better than studying for hours at a stretch sometimes.

    Stage II: Pre-Board Preparation

As soon as pre-boards start, allocate more time to board subjects. You could cut down on CLAT 2027 preparation but not completely stop it.

Even 60-90 minutes of CLAT 2027 preparation will keep you in touch with the exam.

    For instance, you could:

    • Read Current Affairs for 20-30 minutes

    • Answer one or two CLAT passages

    • Revisit vocabulary

    • Practice some Logical/Quantitative questions

Phase 3: Board Examination Preparation Time

In the last few weeks before the boards, the main concern must be the boards.

One must avoid attempting many full CLAT 2027 mock tests papers during this time and only spend a little while keeping up with one's reading and current affairs practice.

Once all the important board examinations are over, then the CLAT 2027 preparation can be increased.

CLAT 2027 Timetable for Class 12 Students

A student studying in Class 12 doesn’t require a complex schedule in order to prepare for CLAT 2027. It is essential to ensure that one finds enough time on a daily basis to study for CLAT while not forgetting about their board exams.

    Day

    CLAT Preparation

    Monday

    English + Current Affairs

    Tuesday

    Legal Reasoning + Current Affairs

    Wednesday

    Logical Reasoning + English

    Thursday

    Quantitative Techniques + Current Affairs

    Friday

    Legal Reasoning + Logical Reasoning

    Saturday

    Sectional Test + Revision

    Sunday

    Full-Length Mock/Previous-Year Questions + Mock Analysis

It is possible for students to customise this strategy depending on their schools and, coaching and board schedules. In case of pre-board and board examinations, the CLAT 2027 preparation load can be decreased to practice and revise current affairs. Once the board exams are over, students can work on more mocks and complete practice.

The most crucial thing in a CLAT 2027 schedule for class 12 is consistency. Just a few hours of proper preparation on a weekly basis will be helpful if the preparation is done consistently and well-balanced with board preparation.

Which CLAT Sections Should Class 12 Students Focus On?

It is advisable for the aspirants to prepare all five parts of CLAT 2027 rather than ignoring any of them.

    • English Language: Read editorials, articles, and good quality non-fiction books. Comprehension practice and vocabulary building from context are required.

    • Legal Reasoning: Practice CLAT 2027 legal reasoning preparation passage-based questions and develop the understanding of legal principles that can be drawn from the passage.

Full-length CLAT 2027 mocks need to be done gradually. Students do not need to do many mocks at once when they start preparation.

    One way could be:

    • Initial stages: Concentrate on sectional tests and passage by passage.

    • Middle: Start practising one full-length mock every week.

    • Close to CLAT: Practice mocks frequently and also analyse every test you take.
