Candidates who want to apply for AIBE 20 must have completed either 3-year LLB and 5-year LLB degree from a recognised university. Likewise, candidates must be enrolled with a State Bar Council to be eligible for the bar exam. Final semester law students (3-year or 5-year LL.B) without backlogs in their degree programme can also apply for the bar exam. No, a person cannot practice law in India without passing the All-India Bar Examination (AIBE). After completing an LLB degree from a recognized university, a law graduate must enroll with a State Bar Council and must clear the AIBE exam conducted by the Bar Council of India. Only after passing the exam, the advocate receives a Certificate of Practice , which allows him or her to practice law in any court in India.
So, without clearing AIBE, one cannot legally appear or argue in court.
