Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) Gandhinagar started the NRI quota admissions for UG and PG programs from February 11, 2026. Candidates will be admitted based on the CLAT All India Rank (AIR) merit. GNLU Gandhinagar conducts a separate admission process for NRI/NRI-sponsored categories. This means that the NRI applicants are not a part of the centralized CLAT 2026 counselling process. Candidates must apply directly to the university’s admission portal. The last date to apply for the GNLU Gandhinagar NRI/NRI-sponsored admission is May 31, 2026, before 5:00 PM. The Consortium of National Law Universities conducted the CLAT 2026 exam on December 7, 2025.

GNLU Gandhinagar offers a total of 16 seats to NRI/NRI-sponsored applicants and 8 seats to foreign nationals, divided amongst the different undergraduate law courses. The table below details the number of seats allotted under each UG law course at GNLU Gandhinagar.

To apply for a law program at GNLU Gandhinagar as an NRI/NRI-sponsored applicant, one must fulfill at least one of the following eligibility criteria.
One of the parents must be an NRI and should be living abroad as an NRI
The sponsor of the NRI applicant must be a first-degree relative living abroad as an NRI
Guardian of the applicant in case of no parents must be an NRI residing abroad
Applicants can be Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) cardholders to apply for GNLU Gandhinagar NRI/NRI-sponsored admission.
