    A CLAT score of 70 in 2026, which is around 58% marks, typically corresponds to ranks between 6,261 and 9,928 based on past trends. For general category candidates, a score of 70 is usually not considered strong. Top National Law Universities (NLUs) like NLSIU Bangalore, NALSAR Hyderabad, and NUJS Kolkata generally have cut-offs well above this range. With ranks near 9,928, gaining admission into premier NLUs is challenging. Hence, general category aspirants with this score should explore other good law schools or prepare to improve their performance.

    Reserved category candidates, especially SC and ST, have better admission chances at many NLUs due to relaxation norms and reserved seats. EWS and OBC candidates with a score of 70 can also secure seats, mainly through state category reservations. Past data shows EWS and OBC candidates can also get seats, mainly through state reservations. These NLUs include MNLU Mumbai, NUALS Kochi, NLUJA Assam, MNLU Nagpur, MNLU Aurangabad, and CNLU Patna.

These ranks indicate that admission to top NLUs is highly unlikely for general category candidates, as most premier NLUs admit students with ranks much lower than 6,000.
