    Over 200 Law Colleges Approved for MHCET Law 2026: Siddharth Law College, New Law College Added, Dates Revised

    The Maharashtra CET Cell has added new colleges to the MH CET Law 2026 CAP list. The 3-year LLB CAP portal now has 212 approved colleges. The MH 5-year LLB CAP portal has 162 approved colleges as of August 14. It now includes some of the top law colleges in Maharashtra such as Siddharth College of Law, Mumbai, Modern Education Society's New Law College, Mumbai, and Oriental College of Law, Navi Mumbai.

    The CET Cell has also extended the round-I option form deadline. The new deadline is August 15, 2026, up to 5 PM for MH CET 5-year LLB. For 3-year LLB, candidates can fill out or edit the form until August 16, 2026, up to 5 PM. Candidates who have already locked their choices can also edit and resubmit their web option forms. The addition of new colleges gives candidates more choices for MH CET Law round-I seat allocation 2026.

    Among the newly added colleges, Siddharth College opened at 99.94 percentile and closed at 95.04 as per MH CET Law previous year cut-offs. Modern Education Society's New Law College and Jitendra Chauhan College of Law also recorded a high closing percentile of 92.21 and 95.04, respectively. Students can now consider these colleges too while filling their round 1 preferences.

    MH CET Law 2026 CAP: Key Changes

    The CET Cell has introduced special CAP rules for the 2026-27 admission year:

    • Round-1 option forms reopened for editing: All round-1 college option forms were unblocked after new colleges were added. Candidates are allowed to edit and resubmit their preferences after considering the newly approved colleges.

    • Auto-freeze discontinued: A candidate allotted their first-preference college will no longer be automatically frozen. Even if the allotted college is the candidate's first choice, they can select either freeze or betterment.

    • Freeze and betterment options: Candidates choosing freeze must pay a Rs 1,000 seat acceptance fee and report to the allotted college for document verification and admission confirmation. Candidates choosing betterment must also pay Rs 1,000.

    • MH CET Law CAP round 3 is final: Betterment will not be available after the MH CET Law third CAP round 2026. The seat allotted in round 3 will be treated as final.
