The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) exam was conducted on December 7, 2025, to get admission into the National Law Universities (NLUs) in India. CLAT 2026 results were announced on December 16, 2025. The scores are primarily accepted by 25 NLUs, GNLU, one off-campus of GNLU, Gandhinagar in Silvassa and IIULER Goa. Additionally, over 60 law schools across the country accept CLAT scores. They conduct admissions separately, unlike NLUs, who participates in CLAT counselling. These non-NLUs are an alternative for candidates who have scored low CLAT scores. This article discusses some of the non-NLUS accepting CLAT 2026 scores.
The following sections detail some of the non-NLUs in India that admit students with CLAT 2026 marks.
Nirma University has been ranked 33 in the NIRF 2025 law ranking. This institute, being a non-NLU, accepts CLAT scores for admission to its BA LLB (Hons), BCom LLB (Hons), and LLM programs. They have admitted students for their UG programs with an All India Rank (AIR) of 4000 - 8000. In the academic year 2023 - 2024, 227 students graduated within the minimum stipulated time. 187 students were placed, and the median salary of placed graduates was 5,21,000 per annum.
Kirit P. Mehta School of Law at SVKM's Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies accepts CLAT scores for its 5-year integrated LLB programs. The Mumbai and Navi Mumbai campuses are the most popular for law programs. There are 160 seats for BA LLB program and 120 for the BBA LLB program at Narsee Monjee Mumbai campus. Whereas at Navi Mumabi campus, there are 60 seats for both BA LLB and BBA LLB respectively.

The School of Law, Forensic Justice & Policy Studies at NFSU offers BBA LLB, BSc LLB, LLB (Hons.) and LLM (Hons.) programs. They accept CLAT scores for admissions. It focuses on blending law with forensic science, technology, and policy for the criminal justice system. The intake for the academic year 2025-2026 is as follows:

BITS Law School in Mumbai is a new law institute of BITS Pilani. It offers modern facilities, well-equipped classrooms, moot courtrooms, and other facilities. Aspiring law students can choose BA LLB (Hons.) or BBA LLB (Hons.) at this institution. They accept CLAT scores for admissions. BITS Law School is a great alternative for law aspirants as a non-NLU in India.
BML Munjal University (BMU) is a private institution in Kapriwas, Gurugram (Haryana). It was founded in 2014 by the Hero Group. The School of Law offers BA LLB (Hons.), BBA LLB (Hons.), and a three-year LLB program, all of which are approved by the Bar Council of India. CLAT scores are accepted for admission. The university offers a great campus with moot courts, a comprehensive law library, residential facilities, and strong industry networks.
IIM Rohtak offers a five-year integrated BBA LLB (Hons.) programme and is currently the only IIM in India to offer a law degree. The programme is relatively new, and therefore, dedicated placement data for law graduates is not yet available. However, it is considered a good non-NLU for students aiming for corporate law. It accepts the CLAT score for admissions. Last year’s registrations via CLAT are detailed in the table below.

With a CLAT 2026 score of 60.75, AIR 17,715, and OBC-NCL rank 3,347 as an out-of-Delhi candidate, getting a seat in the Faculty of Law, Delhi University is very unlikely. DU’s cut-offs for OBC candidates are usually much higher, even in later rounds. You should keep backup options like

With AIR 10542 and OBC rank 1843, getting top NLUs is unlikely. However, you still have chances in newer or lower ranked NLUs like NLU Assam, NUSRL Ranchi, MNLU Nagpur/Mumbai, especially in later or vacancy rounds. Also consider good private law colleges as backup options.
