CLAT Exam Date:07 Dec' 25 - 07 Dec' 25
A law student securing 70 marks in CLAT 2025 out of 120 with reservation may get a seat in NLU, but it is difficult to secure an NLU seat for general category candidates. There are various NLU and non-NLU colleges in which candidates can aim to gain admission with 70 marks in CLAT. Candidates from the general category can opt for an alternative college that accepts the CLAT 2025 score for admission other than NLU. The SC and ST candidates will have wider options as they prefer to go to NLUs or other law colleges with 70 marks in CLAT 2025.
The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) was conducted on December 1 2024, and is the gateway for admissions to UG and PG law courses at National Law Universities across the country. The Consortium of NLUs declared the results on December 7, however, with various cases filed by students against the NLU Consortium, the counselling has been delayed and subsequently, the first CLAT 2025 merit list.
According to the CLAT marks vs rank analysis, a CLAT 2025 score of 70 marks translates into a rank between 10700-11500. Candidates must analyse CLAT cut-off 2025 trends to find out which are the top NLU colleges for CLAT marks 70. The below table shows the corresponding rank for CLAT marks 70.
Marks | Rank |
70 marks | 10700 - 11500 |
The CLAT mark of 70 is a good score for reserved category candidates but may not be a good score in CLAT 2025 for candidates from the general category. A score of 70 marks in CLAT translates to a percentage of around 58.33%. This score is good for the reserved category candidates to secure a seat in most of the top NLUs but not for the general category candidates. Meanwhile, candidates from general, OBC and EWS categories may find it difficult to get a seat for admission to the top NLUs with 70 marks in CLAT.
As mentioned above, with a CLAT score of 70 marks range between 10700-11500 rank. There is no chance a candidate from the general category, OBC, and EWS into a top NLUs. Candidates from SC or ST may clear the cutoff to gain admission into top NLUs with CLAT scores of 70 marks. The table below provides the top NLUs from various categories with 70 marks in CLAT.

Hello,
In CLAT , the 9-digit admit card number is not the same as the roll number you have to write on the OMR sheet. The OMR sheet has only 7 blocks because the CLAT roll number is shorter.
You should check your admit card again and look for the roll number printed near your name and exam details. Fill only that roll number in the OMR sheet. Do not write the 9-digit admit card number.
If you still cannot find the roll number, you can ask the exam invigilator on the exam day.
Hope it helps !
