CLAT 2027 Current Affairs: International Relations Dominate

If you have been skimming international relations in your CLAT 2027 preparation, the latest paper is a reason to change that. Three of the five passages in the current affairs and GK section were built on foreign policy or international relations, and together they carried 17 of the 28 questions, about 61% of the section. The passages came from primary material such as a PIB press release, a ministerial statement in the Lok Sabha and a newspaper report on US-India ties, so reading original statements matters as much as reading summaries.

Topics to revise for CLAT 2027

Based on the CLAT previous year question papers pattern, give foreign policy and international relations the most time. These are the CLAT 2027 topics to cover:

    1. BRICS Summit 2026

    2. World Economic Forum

    3. G20

    4. Greenland

    5. NATO

    6. Venezuela crisis

    7. US-Iran war

    8. Energy security and food security

For each one, note the same four things: what happened, who the main parties are, what position India took, and what outcome or declaration followed. The Question paper rewards CLAT 2027 candidates who can connect an event to India's stated foreign policy, as the US-India and Operation Sindoor passages did.

Why International Relations Matters for CLAT 2027

International relations is one of the most reliable themes in the CLAT 2027 GK and Current Affairs section. In the latest paper, it carried 17 of 28 questions (about 61%), and the BRICS summit was already featured in a 2025 passage. Two of the three IR passages used official material (a ministerial statement and a PIB release), so candidates who read original statements, not only summaries, are better placed.

    Topics worth revising:

    1. BRICS Summit 2026

    2. World Economic Forum

    3. G20

    4. Greenland

    5. NATO

    6. Venezuela crisis

    7. US-Iran war

    8. Energy security and food security

For each, note what happened, who the main parties are, what position India took, and what outcome followed. Keep this alongside your notes on sports, disasters, economy and awards, not instead of them.
