Amity University-Noida Law Admissions 2026
Among top 100 Universities Globally in the Times Higher Education (THE) Interdisciplinary Science Rankings 2026
The Bar Council of India (BCI) has set July 7, 2026 as the last date to upload the enrolment certificate for AIBE 20 candidates who appeared under undertaking categories. The deadline applies to candidates who had completed either a BA LLB or LLB programme but were not enrolled with a State Bar Council, as well as those who had surrendered their enrolment due to employment. However, candidates who appeared as final semester law students or law graduates awaiting results have time till January 7, 2027 to complete the enrolment and upload the certificate.
The AIBE 20 result was declared on January 7, 2026. As per the undertaking conditions prescribed by BCI, candidates were granted either six months or one year from the result date to obtain SBC enrolment and upload the enrolment certificate. Candidates must check the undertaking category selected during AIBE 20 registration and upload their enrolment certificate to remain eligible for the Certificate of Practice (CoP). Failure to do so will require them to appear for the AIBE again.
Undertaking Category | Time Allowed | Deadline |
Law Graduates (Not Yet Enrolled with SBC) | 6 months from result | 07 July 2026 |
Law Graduates Currently Employed (Not Enrolled / Surrendered Enrolment) | 6 months from result | 07 July 2026 |
Final Semester Law Students (Not Yet Passed Out) | 1 year from result | 07 January 2027 |
Law Graduates Awaiting Results | 1 year from result | 07 January 2027 |
Candidates appearing under the AIBE 20 undertaking categories must first obtain the enrolment certificate from their respective State Bar Council (SBC) and then upload it on the official AIBE portal. The complete process is given below:
Apply for enrolment with the State Bar Council where the candidate intends to practise law.
Submit the required documents, including the LLB degree or provisional certificate, mark sheets, passport-size photographs, identity proof and other documents prescribed by the concerned State Bar Council.
Pay the prescribed enrolment fee. The fee generally ranges between ₹10,000 and ₹15,000, though it varies across State Bar Councils.
Complete the document verification process and any additional formalities, such as verification or interviews, if required. The enrolment process usually takes 30 to 90 days.
Collect the physical enrolment certificate or provisional enrolment certificate issued by the State Bar Council after successful verification.
Visit the official AIBE website - www.allindiabarexamination.com, log in using the registered User ID and password, and open the Enrolment Certificate Upload link.
Upload a clear, self-attested scanned copy of the State Bar Council enrolment certificate in the prescribed PDF/JPEG format.
Submit the certificate and download the acknowledgement or confirmation page for future reference.
Candidates should ensure that the uploaded certificate clearly displays the enrolment number, State Bar Council seal and authorised signature.
State Bar Council elections or administrative reasons can temporarily delay enrolment, document verification and issuance of enrolment certificates in some states. Candidates facing election-related delays should contact the following authorities:
AIBE helpdesk: Immediately contact the AIBE helpdesk through aibe.helpdesk@gmail.com or councilaibe@gmail.com. Mention the AIBE roll number, registration ID and details of the pending enrolment. Attach supporting documents, such as the enrolment acknowledgement receipt or the State Bar Council notification, if available.
AIBE helpline: Candidates can also contact the AIBE helpline at 011-49225022, 011-49225023, 8655701484, or +91-9804580458 during official working hours.
The BCI has not announced any extension of the July 7, 2026 or January 7, 2027, deadlines. Therefore, candidates should complete the enrolment process and upload the enrolment certificate within the applicable timeline to remain eligible for the CoP.
