The All India Bar Examination is a national-level certification-based examination conducted by the Bar Council of India. Law graduates appear for the exam to get their hands on the AIBE Certificate of Practice, which acts as a license to practice law in Indian courts. Hence, this aspect makes it quite popular, and lakhs of candidates appear for the AIBE exam every year. The AIBE 20 exam was held on November 30, 2025, in offline mode.
Each year, the number of candidates appearing for the AIBE exam has been gradually increasing. Where AIBE 20 recorded 2,51,968, candidates compared to 2,29,843 with AIBE 19. This revised criterion significantly increased the number of candidates who appeared for AIBE 20 compared to last year. Also, as per the latest changes in the AIBE 20 eligibility criteria, candidates who are in their final year of law programme with no backlogs are eligible for the AIBE exam.
