The Bar Council of India (BCI) has extended the deadline to submit State Bar Council enrolment certificates for AIBE 19, 20, and 21 candidates. Eligible candidates can now submit their enrolment certificates until January 6, 2027. This extension applies to law graduates who appeared under the undertaking-based eligibility. Candidates who qualify the examination must upload their SBC enrolment certificate to obtain the Certificate of Practice (CoP).
The AIBE 19 result was declared on March 21, 2025, while the AIBE 20 result was announced on January 7, 2026. The AIBE 21 result is expected between July 15 and July 18, 2026, after the release of the final answer key. Candidates who fail to submit will not be issued a CoP. Without a CoP, advocates cannot practise law before courts or tribunals in India.

The extension applies if the candidate faced a delay in enrolment due to non-declaration of final results, non-issuance of final mark sheets, degree or provisional certificate, or delay in SBC enrolment despite applying within time.
Candidates who had completed all examinations but were waiting for their final results, mark sheets, degree or provisional certificate.
The relaxation is granted only if the candidate can provide evidence that they applied for enrolment within the first six months and the delay was beyond their control.
The following categories will continue to be governed by the original six-month deadline:
