The All India Bar Examination is one of the most competitive examinations in the legal field in India. Any law graduate who wants to become an advocate in India has to appear for the All India Bar Exam. This aspect of the examination makes it popular, and lakhs of candidates register and appear for it every year. In this article, find out how many candidates appear in AIBE based on the available last year's trend. The AIBE 20 examination will be held on November 30, 2025.
The Bar Council of India is the exam-conducting authority of the AIBE 20 exam 2025.
As per the AIBE 20 eligibility criteria, BCI has allowed final-year law students to appear for the exam. Candidates who have not registered with a State Bar Council were also allowed to appear for AIBE 20. These relaxations are expected to significantly increase the number of candidates who appeared for AIBE 20 compared to last year.
Past trends suggest that a total of 2,29,843 candidates have appeared for the AIBE 19 exam. The high number of candidates appearing for AIBE is for the reason that it is the only exam through which law graduates can become advocates and practise law in India. The relaxed AIBE eligibility norms can also play a hand at increasing the number of candidates who will appear for AIBE 20.
