Jindal Global Law School Admissions 2026
Ranked #1 Law School in India & South Asia by QS- World University Rankings | Merit cum means scholarships | Early Admissions (Pahse 2) Deadline: 28th Feb’26
Admission to a National Law University (NLU) does not only require a good CLAT score but also requires candidates to follow the strict administrative schedule set by the Consortium of NLUs. The CLAT 2026 counselling registration deadline of December 27, 2025, has now passed. Candidates who did not complete registration and fee payment by the last CLAT counselling date are effectively out of the process for the CLAT 2026 admission cycle.
Missing this critical step restricts the candidate from accessing all allotment lists and seat allocations in NLUs. The first allotment list releases on January 7, 2026, but unregistered candidates cannot participate. The Consortium of NLUs applies a strict schedule, and there are no provisions for late registration or appeals regarding missed deadlines. Students who missed the counselling window should immediately explore alternative career paths. This includes applying to reputable private law colleges or preparing for the CLAT 2027 cycle.
Event | Date |
Counselling registration begins | December 16, 2025 |
Last date for registration and fee payment | December 27, 2025 (ended) |
January 07, 2026 | |
Second allotment list | January 22, 2026 |
Third allotment list | February 05, 2026 |
Fourth allotment list | May 02, 2026 |
Fifth and final allotment list | May 15, 2026 |
By missing the CLAT counselling registration window that ended on December 27, several things happen simultaneously:
Ineligibility for further allotments: Even if the candidate has a top 100 rank in CLAT 2026, the system cannot consider the candidate for seat allocation itself. Admission is not automatic; it requires candidates to register themselves during the counselling window.
No late entry: Unlike exams such as MH CET Law or TS LAWCET 2026, which often allow unregistered candidates to join during counselling rounds 2 or 3, CLAT requires all participants to register during the initial counselling window.
No manual appeals are entertained: The admission process is automated. The portal does not accept late fees or manual applications, even through appeals to individual NLU offices.

After missing the NLU admission window, the primary option is to apply to reputable private law universities that accept CLAT 2026 scores. Institutions such as Alliance University, Bennett University, Lloyd Law College and etc, conduct their own admission and often reserve seats for candidates with high CLAT scores. Many of these private universities offer merit-based scholarships and fee exemptions to students with competitive CLAT ranks.
Candidates can also apply for state-level entrance exams like MH CET Law 2026, which opens doors to prestigious colleges like GLC Mumbai and ILS Pune, and CUET (UG) for Central Universities. Candidates can also consider taking a gap year if they are determined to secure a seat in a top-tier NLU. Taking a gap year to prepare for CLAT 2027 or AILET 2027 is a respected choice.

Candidates can apply to these law colleges for admission using their CLAT 2026 scorecard. Candidates can refer to this list of CLAT colleges other than NLUs that accept CLAT scores to admit students for various UG and PG law courses.

Hello,
With AIR 10542 and OBC rank 1843, getting top NLUs is unlikely. However, you still have chances in newer or lower ranked NLUs like NLU Assam, NUSRL Ranchi, MNLU Nagpur/Mumbai, especially in later or vacancy rounds. Also consider good private law colleges as backup options.
