The Bar Council of India (BCI) has released the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) XXI syllabus on its official website. The exam is scheduled for June 7, 2026. The AIBE XXI syllabus comprises 19 topics and the number of questions for each subject. Candidates are required to answer 100 MCQ questions in 3.5 hours. They need to be familiar with the syllabus while preparing for the AIBE 21 exam. There are no changes in the AIBE 21 exam syllabus as compared to the previous year. BCI has started the AIBE 21 exam registrations from February 11, 2026. The last date to register for the exam is April 30, 2026.
Constitutional law, Cr.P.C (Criminal Procedure Code), and Bhartiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita and C.P.C (Code of Civil Procedure) are three main topics carrying the maximum number of questions in the AIBE 21 exam. In 2024, BCI added three new topics, namely Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita, Bhartiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bhartiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, to the AIBE exam syllabus. The AIBE exam is a certification exam mandatory for lawyers to practice law in India. The exam is held offline at AIBE XXI exam centres in India. There are 100 questions carrying 1 mark each. Candidates are advised to answer as many questions as possible, as there is no negative marking for wrong answers or unanswered questions.
