Amity University-Noida Law Admissions 2026
Among top 100 Universities Globally in the Times Higher Education (THE) Interdisciplinary Science Rankings 2026
The Consortium of NLUs has published the CLAT 2026 first seat allotment list today, January 7, 2026. The CLAT 2026 1st seat allotment list contains NLU-wise list of students allotted seats. As expected, NLSIU Bengaluru had the highest CLAT 2026 cutoff with general category admissions closing at 101 rank in round 1. Candidates can check the CLAT first seat allotment 2026 on the official website consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The release of the CLAT 2026 first merit list marks the official start of the CLAT 2026 admission process. Through the CLAT 2026 seat allotment list, the Consortium of National Law Universities gives admissions to students to one of the 26 participating National Law Universities (NLUs) and IIULER Goa. The process is based strictly on merit, considering the candidate's All India Rank (AIR) in the CLAT exam and the NLU preference list of candidates submitted during counselling registration.
The CLAT first allotment is often the most competitive round. It sets the opening cut-off ranks for the 2026-27 academic session. Understanding how to navigate this stage is vital. After receiving an allotment, candidates must choose between "freeze," "float," or "exit" options to secure their future. The 'freeze' option confirms acceptance of the current NLU. ‘Float' allows a candidate to accept the seat but indicates interest in being upgraded to a higher-preference NLU in further CLAT counselling rounds. Each choice has specific rules that can impact its chances of getting into a preferred NLU later.

Exit: If the candidates no longer wish to participate in the CLAT 2026 counselling process, choosing "Exit" will forfeit the seat and remove them from further rounds.
