    The All India Bar Examination (AIBE) is a certification examination conducted by the Bar Council of India for law graduates seeking the Certificate of Practice (CoP). Advocates enrolled with their respective State Bar Councils are eligible to appear for the examination. Candidates who qualify for the AIBE are awarded the Certificate of Practice, which is mandatory for practising law before courts and tribunals in India. The All India Bar Examination is generally conducted twice a year and serves as the final eligibility test for advocates entering the legal profession.

    AIBE 21 (XXI) was conducted on June 7, 2026, in offline mode across more than 60 cities. The AIBE exam pattern comprises 100 multiple-choice questions with no negative marking. Candidates from the General and OBC categories must secure at least 45% marks to qualify, while SC, ST, and Persons with Disabilities candidates require 40% marks. Although AIBE is no longer an open-book examination, candidates are permitted to carry clean and unannotated Bare Acts inside the examination hall. There is no upper age limit and no restriction on the number of attempts in AIBE exam.
