PU BA LLB Entrance Exam 2024: Counselling (Started), Seat Allotment

Panjab University will conduct the counselling of PU BA LLB 2024 in offline mode from July 10, After considering the objections against the tentative merit list, it has published the PU BA LLB provisional merit list 2024 on July 2, 2024.  The PU BA LLB admission form 2024 was closed on June 10, 2024. Later, the university also published the PU BA LLB 2024 tentative merit list on June 26, 2024. The counselling is conducted at all law centres of Panjab University separately. Candidates shortlisted through PU BA LLB merit list will have to appear in the counselling process in order to complete the admission process.

The counselling of PU BA LLB 2024 will include steps such as online registration, submitting the documents and educational certificates for verification and conforming the seat by paying the course fee.

Documents required for PU BA LLB counselling process

• Class 10 and 12 mark sheets and certificate
• Birth certificate
•  Character certificate
• Gap year affidavit (if applicable), 
• Reserve category certificates (if applicable) 

After the document verification process, candidates will have to submit a demand draft of the fee for blocking seats for themselves to confirm their admission.

Candidates seeking to pursue five-year integrated legal education at participating institutes of Panjab University have to appear in PU BA LLB entrance test. The eligibility criteria of PU BA LLB 2024 are conditions that the candidate has to meet to be considered for admission.

• Qualifying exam: The applicant needs to have passed  10+2 examination or equivalent exam scoring minimum 50% marks. Relaxation of 5% in minimum marks applies for candidates belonging to reserved categories. 
• Open University candidates: who have passed 10+2 directly without having any basic qualification are not eligible
• Age limit: There is no upper age limit for appearing in the exam.

Earlier, the university released the PU BA LLB application 2024 on March 13, 2024 in online mode at uglaw.puchd.ac.in. Panjab University  released the admit card for PU BA LLB entrance exam online on April 23, 2024. Candidates can download the admit card by logging into the UG admission portal of the university. PU BA LLB admit card 2024 is a mandatory document to be carried to the exam hall. In addition, it carries some vital information like the name and roll number of the candidate, date and time of the exam, venue details, and also exam day guidelines.

PU UG Law exam day guidelines 2024

The admit card carries a series of guidelines for the candidates appearing in the entrance examination. Candidates should read all the exam day guidelines carefully before going to the exam centre. Some of the important exam day instructions are mentioned below.

• Candidates should read the exam centre of PU BA LLB 2024 at least 30 minutes before the examination. 
• Candidates going to appear in PU UG law entrance exam must carry a printed copy of admit card and an original photo ID card to their exam centre.
• Candidates should also carry a blue/black ballpoint pen.
• Candidates will not be allowed to carry any electronic items such as mobile phones, watch, earphones, calculator inside the exam hall.
• No candidate will be allowed to leave the exam centre before the completion of the test. 
• Candidates are further advised to keep the admit card safe for the remaining admission process. 

Panjab University has released the response to objections to PU BA LLB answer key on May 9, 2024. Earlier, the university had released the answer key of PU BA LLB 2024 on May 3, 2024. PU BA LLB answer key is available in online mode on the official website -exams.puchd.ac.in. After the answer key was released the Panjab University has invited objections to the provisional answer key till May 5, 2024. 

The university would then publish the responses to the objections to the PU BA LLB answer key and candidates would be allowed to submit cross objections. The final PU BA LLB answer key is released after considering all the objections. The PU BA LLB answer key enables the candidates to get an idea about their performance and how many marks they are likely to score based on the number of correct and incorrect responses. .

Punjab University has declared the result of PU BA LLB 2024 on May 15, 2024. The result of the entrance test is made available on the university website - results.puexam.in. Candidates can check the result by entering their roll no. The evaluation once done by the university shall be absolutely final. Candidates can download the result by logging into the admission portal. The result carries details such as marks scored by the candidates, rank, roll number along with provisional qualification status.

PU BA LLB 2024 merit list

Along with the result, the university also releases a merit list of PU BA LLB 2024. It will carry all the names and marks of all the candidates who appeared in the test. The merit list informs about the rank secured by the candidate. 

The merit list of PU BA LLB 2024 is prepared based on the following criteria.

• PU BA LLB entrance exam score is given 50% weightage. 
• Class 12th score carries the remaining 50% weightage.

The Panjab University will release the cut off of PU BA LLB 2024 at the time of counselling. The PU BA LLB cut off 2024 will indicate the minimum marks required for admissions to Panjab University and its law centres. For each law centre, the PU BA LLB 2024 cut off will be released separately. Candidates coming under the cut off list will have to complete the admission process by appearing in counselling.
