The Bar Council of India (BCI) has officially released the notification for the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) XXI (21). The link for the online AIBE 21 application has been released by BCI. However, this link is still inactive. Candiates will be able to register once the link is active. Online registration for the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) XXI is going to start on February 11, 2026, through the official AIBE website. The AIBE XXI is scheduled to be held on June 7, 2026. This certification exam is a mandatory requirement for law graduates to practice law in India, through a Certificate of Practice (CoP). The AIBE 21 exam will be conducted in an offline, OMR-based format across 56 cities. The AIBE syllabus has been updated to incorporate India's new criminal laws. These new criminal laws are: the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA).

AIBE is no longer a traditional open book exam, candidates are permitted to carry Bare Acts without notes or comments. Find the AIBE XXI exam details for the 2026 session below:
Mode of examination: Offline (Pen-and-paper OMR format).
Total duration: 3 hours and 30 minutes.
Question format: 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
Marking scheme: 1 mark per correct answer; no negative marking.
AIBE qualifying marks: 45% for General/OBC and 40% for SC/ST/PWD candidates.
Candidates must meet the following AIBE eligibility criteria, required to register for the AIBE 2026 exam session:
Nationality: Must be an Indian citizen; OCI/PIO holders with Indian LLB degrees are also eligible.
Academic qualification: A 3-year or 5-year LLB degree from a BCI-recognised university.
Bar council enrollment: Candidates can register without an enrollment certificate but must eventually enroll with a State Bar Council to receive the Certificate of Practice (CoP).
Minimum LLB marks: No minimum percentage is required in the LLB degree to appear for the exam.
Final year students: Eligible to apply if in the final semester with no pending backlogs from previous semesters.
Age limit: No upper or lower age limit is prescribed for appearing in AIBE 2026.

Undertaking Form: A signed, scanned undertaking form indicating you are in
