The Consortium of NLUs conducted the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) for the academic year 2024-25 on December 03. The admission process for CLAT December 2023 will be completed by the end of July 2024. The next CLAT, for the academic year 2025-26 will be conducted in December 2024. The scores of the Common Law Admission Test will be accepted by 24 NLUs for admission to integrated LLB and LLM courses.

The recent CLAT which was held on December 03, was conducted with a revised pattern. The number of questions was reduced from 150 to 120, making it more student-friendly. As a result, CLAT was much easier than its previous few administrations. The CLAT result was announced on December 10, and Jai Bohara, a student from Rajasthan topped the exam. The CLAT 2024 topper secured 108 marks out of 119.
Pradyot Shah and Rahul Palakurthy, a student-teacher duo were able to secure AIR 2 and AIR 3, respectively.

The next CLAT will be held in December 2024. CLAT 2024 exam date is likely to be December 1, 2024, it will be an offline-based exam with syllabus and pattern likely to remain unchanged. The application form of CLAT 2024-25 will be released in the first week of January.
The scores of CLAT 2024 will be used by 25 NLUs including the newly established RPNLU Prayagraj. The NLUs offer 5-year integrated LLB courses through CLAT UG and LLM through CLAT PG.

The CLAT exam is a test of critical thinking and analytical skills which are considered necessary for a successful legal profession. CLAT tests these skills through five subjects as mentioned in CLAT syllabus given above.
The CLAT exam will have 120 questions, each carrying one mark. The duration of CLAT December 2024 will be 2 hours. There will be a negative marking of -0.25 for each incorrect answer.

With AIR 10542 and OBC rank 1843, getting top NLUs is unlikely. However, you still have chances in newer or lower ranked NLUs like NLU Assam, NUSRL Ranchi, MNLU Nagpur/Mumbai, especially in later or vacancy rounds. Also consider good private law colleges as backup options.
Since you scored 8000 AIR in CLAT, getting into top NLUs may not be possible, so it is a good idea to look for affordable and good law colleges.
