Law students can explore further study options to gain specialisation and expertise by pursuing a Master of Law (LLM). There are several LLM entrance exams in India through which one can enrol into a one-year or two-year LLM programme. The entrance exam for LLM usually tests the candidate’s knowledge in different areas of law. In this article find out which are the popular LLM entrance exams 2024 including eligibility and syllabus.

LLM is a postgraduate course that can be of either one year or two year duration depending upon the specialisation and law institute one opts for. Candidates have a lot of college options to pursue this course, with each college conducting its own entrance exam for LLM. Almost all top law colleges and universities such as NLUs and top private and government colleges offer LLM programmes

LLM Eligibility Criteria

As per LLM eligibility criteria, applicants must have completed 3-year LLB or a 5-year LLB degree from a recognized law institute or university. Final year LLB candidates are also eligible to apply provided they submit their qualifying certificate at the time of admission. Candidates are also advised to check the requirement pertaining to minimum passing marks required with the college in which they wish to apply. The minimum marks may vary from one exam or institute to another.

LLM Entrance Exams 2024

Just like in the case of LLB, the entrance exams for LLM take place at the national, state and university level. Candidates have to choose the exams taking into account the specialisation available, participating institutes and future prospects after completing the course. In the paragraphs below, we discuss in details the top LLM entrance exams in India. The exams are given in no particular order.
