SLAT Exam 2026: Notification (Out), Application Form (Started), Exam Date (Out), Syllabus & Pattern, Selection Process

Symbiosis International (Deemed University) has opened the SLAT 2026 registration on August 1, 2025. Candidates can register online from the official website: slat-test.org. Candidates have to pay the SLAT 2026 registration fee of Rs. 2250 per test to submit the SLAT application form. Additionally, candidates have to pay a programme fee of Rs. 1000 per programme for each SLS to which they wish to apply. Candidates can register for one or both phases of SLAT 2026. The last date to fill out the SLAT 2026 application form is November 30, 2025. 

How to apply for SLAT 2026?

• Visit the official website of SLAT: slat-test.org.

• Click on the SLAT registration link.

• Enter your email ID and phone number to register and obtain login credentials.

• Fill out the SLAT registration form with personal information, educational qualifications, communication details and other relevant information.

• Choose the test slot.

• Choose the exam centre- candidates can give three exam centre preferences.

• Complete fee payment. SLAT registration fee can be paid online or through DD.

SLAT 2026 Registration Fee

Candidates must ensure that they fulfil the SLAT eligibility criteria as prescribed by Symbiosis International (Deemed University). If candidates are found to be not conforming to the eligibility criteria prescribed by the university, then they will not be able to be admission into the law courses, even if they have cleared the exam.

The eligibility criteria pertain to stipulations regarding minimum educational qualification, passing marks and age limit. Given below are the details of the eligibility criteria.

SLAT 2026 Eligibility Criteria

As per the SLAT 2026 exam pattern, there are 60 questions divided across five sections. Each section carries twelve questions. Each question carries one mark. There is no negative marking for wrong answers.

SLAT 2026 Exam Pattern

Candidates must also appear for a Personal Interview (PI) after appearing for the exam. The SLAT exam carries only 70% weight in the selection procedure. PI carries 30% weight in the selection process.

Preparation for SLAT requires preparing on two fronts - the SLAT exam and PI. Only those candidates who attend all the components of the selection process will be able to gain admission. Candidates must focus on all aspects of the selection process to finally gain admission into one of the Symbiosis Law Schools.

Important Tips

• Study the syllabus and exam pattern properly to understand what the exam expects the candidates to do.

• Create a section-wise study plan and a daily study timetable. All the sections carry equal weights in the exam.

• Practise with good study material. There are study materials specially designed for SLAT preparation which are updated as per the latest syllabus and exam pattern. Search for good books for each of the sections in the SLAT exam.

• Practise with SLAT mock tests and sample papers to build speed and also assess the level of preparation and pinpoint any weak areas that need improvement.

• Allocate time efficiently both during the preparation and solving mock papers and also on the exam. Time management is key to succeed in competitive exams to maximise attempts and score high marks.

Symbiosis International (Deemed University) will issue the SLAT 2026 admit card on December 11, 2025 (Phase 1) and December 18, 2025 (Phase 2). Candidates can download the admit card of SLAT 2026 from the official website through their login. The SLAT admit card is a mandatory document to be carried to the exam hall.

• A login window will appear on the screen.

• Enter your SLAT exam ID and password.

• The admit card will be displayed on the screen.

The SLAT 2026 result will be declared on January 15, 2026. The result of SLAT 2026 will be announced in online mode on the official website. The SLAT 2026 cut-off will be available after the declaration of the results. The SLAT 2026 cut off marks will be different for each Symbiosis Law School (SLS), and the SLAT cut-off for SLS Pune will be relatively higher compared to other SLSs. SIU will release the cut-off for SLAT 2026 based on the following factors mentioned below.

• Difficulty level of the SLAT exam.

• Total number of applicants.

• Total seats available for admissions.

• Number of applicants in each category.

• Preferences of colleges entered by candidates.

• Reservation policy of Symbiosis Law Schools

The SLAT 2026 counselling process is held separately for the four SLS in the Symbiosis group as per their respective schedules. During the application process, candidates are required to separately apply for programmes at different SLSs. The selection process at Symbiosis Law Schools consists of the SLAT exam and PI. While the SLAT exam carries 70% weight, the PI carries 30% weight, respectively. The SLAT WAT has been removed from the selection process. 

Candidates will be called to attend the PI rounds for only those SLS for which they paid the programme registration fee. The shortlisted candidates have to first book the online PI slots and upload the required documents to attend the interview round.

Merit List

Symbiosis International (Deemed University) will publish the SLAT 2026 merit list for each round of the admission process. The SLAT merit list will be prepared based on the consolidated scores of the candidates in the exam and the PI round.

Each SLS would publish its own merit list for different programmes. This list is only provisional as candidates would be required to complete the admission process.

The SLAT 2026 question paper is a key resource for candidates preparing for the exam. The SLAT question paper 2026 follows a consistent pattern, designed to assess candidates across five sections: Logical Reasoning, Legal Reasoning, Analytical Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, and General Knowledge. Each section in the SLAT question paper carries equal weightage of 12 marks.
