About SLAT 2026

Symbiosis International (Deemed) University has started the SLAT 2026 application process on August 01, 2025. Candidates can complete the SLAT 2026 registration online from the official website -  slat-test.org. The last date to complete the SLAT 2026 registration is November 30, 2025. During registration, candidates have to pay the SLAT 2026 application fee of Rs. 2250 per test as well as the programme registration fee of Rs. 1000 for each SLS in which they wish to secure admission. The SLAT 2026 admit card will be live on its official website on December 11, 2025 (Phase 1) and December 18, 2025 (Phase 2), respectively. Earlier, the university published the SLAT 2026 notification on its official website. The university will conduct SLAT 2026 in two phases. Candidates can apply for either one or both phases of the Symbiosis Law Admission Test. The university will conduct SLAT 2026 online on December 20, 2025 (Phase 1) and December 28, 2025 (Phase 2). 

After conducting the exam, the shortlisted candidates have to appear for a Personal Interaction session with the desired SLS as part of the SLAT selection process. The SLAT 2026 counselling will be done by each participating SLS separately. The university will admit students into BA LLB and BBA LLB programmes of the four Symbiosis Law Schools (SLS). The four SLS campuses are SLS Pune, SLS Noida, SLS Hyderabad, and SLS Nagpur. 

What is SLAT?

The full form of SLAT is Symbiosis Law Admission Test. SLAT 2026 will be conducted by the Symbiosis International (Deemed ) University for admissions into the 5-year integrated law programmes of the four Symbiosis Law Schools at Pune, Noida, Nagpur and Hyderabad.  SLAT 2026 will be conducted in online mode at 77 exam centres across the country.  Through the Symbiosis Law Admission Test, the law schools offer admissions into their BA LLB and BBA LLB programmes with a total seat intake of 1080 seats.

SLAT Admission Process 2026

The SLAT admission process consists of two steps, namely the exam and the Personal Interview.

  • Candidates have to apply online before the final SLAT 2026 registration date from the official website - slat-test.org for either one or both phases of the exam
  • Next, appear for SLAT 2026. Candidates can appear for one or both phases of SLAT 2026.
  • If a candidate appears for both phases, the best score among the two attempts will be considered.
  • Shortlisted candidates from SLAT 2026 will be asked to participate Personal Interaction round, for which they have to book the slots and upload the required documents online.
  • Consolidated scorecard based on performance in the test and PI will be prepared. The SLAT 2026 score will be converted to a scaled score out of 70 marks. The PI will be for 30 marks.
  • Publication of merit list of selected candidates
  • Payment of fees and document verification to finalise admission

SLAT Selection Process 2026

The final selection in SLAT 2026 will be made on the basis of the composite score obtained in the two components of the SLAT selection process. Shortlisted candidates after the exam would be invited to participate in the PI round, which would be conducted in online mode. Candidates who fail to attend the  PI round will not be considered for admission.

SLAT 2026: Important Instructions

The university will issue SLAT 2026 exam instructions and guidelines on its official website. The exam instructions will be available on the SLAT 2026 admit card as well. Candidates must carefully follow the instructions to successfully appear for the exam.

  • Only a colour printout of the SLAT 2026 admit card is valid for the exam.
  • Candidates must arrive at the exam centre at the prescribed time mentioned on the admit card.
  • A colour photograph not more than four months old should be pasted on the SLAT admit card.
  • Candidates must also carry a valid ID proof on the day of the exam. The valid ID proof includes documents such as voter ID, Aadhar card, passport, driving licence and so on.
  • Cell phones, cameras, smartwatches and other electronic gadgets are not allowed inside the exam hall.
  • Candidates found to indulge in any malpractice during the exam would be disqualified and barred from appearing for the exam in the future.
  • On the day of the exam, the SLAT 2026 admit card will be authenticated by the authorised person. Candidates must preserve the authenticated admit card till the end of the admission process.

SLAT Symbiosis Law Admission Test Syllabus

Preparation for SLAT requires preparing on two fronts - the SLAT exam and PI. Only those candidates who attend all the components of the selection process will be able to gain admission. Candidates must focus on all aspects of the selection process to finally gain admission into one of the Symbiosis Law Schools.

Important Tips

  • Study the syllabus and exam pattern properly to understand what the exam expects the candidates to do.

  • Create a section-wise study plan and a daily study timetable. All the sections carry equal weights in the exam.

  • Practise with good study material. There are study materials specially designed for SLAT preparation which are updated as per the latest syllabus and exam pattern. Search for good books for each of the sections in the SLAT exam.

  • Practise with SLAT mock tests and sample papers to build speed and also assess the level of preparation and pinpoint any weak areas that need improvement.

  • Allocate time efficiently both during the preparation and solving mock papers and also on the exam. Time management is key to succeed in competitive exams to maximise attempts and score high marks.

The SLAT 2026 cut-off will be available after the declaration of the results. The SLAT 2026 cut off marks will be different for each Symbiosis Law School (SLS), and the SLAT cut-off for SLS Pune will be relatively higher compared to other SLSs. SIU will release the cut-off for SLAT 2026 based on the following factors mentioned below.

  • Difficulty level of the SLAT exam.

  • Total number of applicants.

  • Total seats available for admissions.

  • Number of applicants in each category.

  • Preferences of colleges entered by candidates.

  • Reservation policy of Symbiosis Law Schools

The SLAT 2026 counselling process is held separately for the four SLS in the Symbiosis group as per their respective schedules. During the application process, candidates are required to separately apply for programmes at different SLSs. The selection process at Symbiosis Law Schools consists of the SLAT exam and PI. While the SLAT exam carries 70% weight, the PI carries 30% weight, respectively. The SLAT WAT has been removed from the selection process. 

Candidates will be called to attend the PI rounds for only those SLS for which they paid the programme registration fee. The shortlisted candidates have to first book the online PI slots and upload the required documents to attend the interview round.

Merit List

Symbiosis International (Deemed University) will publish the SLAT 2026 merit list for each round of the admission process. The SLAT merit list will be prepared based on the consolidated scores of the candidates in the exam and the PI round.

Each SLS would publish its own merit list for different programmes. This list is only provisional as candidates would be required to complete the admission process.
