Adhere to the Current Affairs Preparation Strategy: Set aside time systematically for current affairs preparation. Pay more attention to the prominent national and international happenings, especially in the last one year. Prepare short notes of these happenings separately under these heads, namely, politics, economics, sports, and law. Also, more focus should be on the Supreme Court’s judgements and Important Government policies. A quick review of your notes can be done every week to ensure that you memorize the contents.
Keep Practicing Current Legal Trends: Because AILET is more about legal awareness, keep yourself updated with necessary information. Document important legal events such as key court decisions, new laws, and new legal appointees. File them under a separate heading of legal vocabulary and relevant legal points. Don't forget to look up legal news and popular logbook magazines to keep yourself well-informed about the jurisprudential spheres.
Foster a Strong Base for Static GK: Learn the basics of static GK such as Indian constitution, Indian polity, international organisations and etc. Form mind maps to illustrate the connections between similar subjects. However, only those which have appeared most frequently in the last few years should be concentrated on. Revisions should be done periodically for instance, within a span of fifteen minutes and take up short mocks every week to track your performance.
There are a few tips you may find useful for time management especially during the AILET test.
The 120 Minutes Strategy Should be Understood in Detail: There are time frames for all the sections, allocate them appropriately. 35 minutes for English, then another 35 for General knowledge, Legal reasoning takes 25 minutes, and Logical reasoning takes another 25. Allot 20 minutes for Mathematics. Reserve 10 minutes for revision. Incorporate this time using in a test environment regularly. It is also important to do the tasks you feel you are most capable of and those which will yield good scores, making your chances of success quite high.
Use Appropriate Question Selection Strategies: The first few minutes should be spent skimming for easy moderate or hard questions and quickly get started, marking pages for easy reference and attempting those pages first if one is sure that they would be easier. For questions in passages and questions that are long, read the questions first and then go to the passage. Do not try difficult questions at the beginning. Leave these questions for later if time allows it. This approach helps improve performance through limitations placed by time.
Apply the 60 Second Rule: Try to avoid pondering over any question for too long. If within the first 15 seconds of reading a question you have not begun working on it, consider this question to be addressed later. When you are answering questions for the first time, do not take longer than 60 seconds for any question. In Reading Comprehension and Legal Reasoning Assignments, give 3 minutes to the reading space and 30 seconds to each question.
