• Educational qualification: Passed 10+2 or its equivalent from a board recognised by the University of Calcutta

• Minimum passing marks: At least 45% marks for general candidates in the best four subjects. (excluding compulsory environmental studies) for General/unreserved categories. At least 40% marks in the best four subjects(excluding environmental studies) for SC/ST/PwD (Disability 40% or more). At least 42% marks to be obtained by the candidate in the best of four subjects (excluding compulsory environmental studies) for OBC-A/OBC-B/EWS.

• Age: No age limit

• The applicant must have passed in English with full marks of at least 100.

• Other requirements: Candidates who passed 10+2 from the Board other than WBCHSE, ISC, CBSE, Rabindra Mukta Vidyalaya and NIOS must obtain an “equivalence certificate” from the office of the Registrar, ( equivalence Section) University of Calcutta, 87/1, College Street, Kolkata-700073 through a written application in plain paper with a relevant photocopy of 10+2 mark sheet. The certificate will be required at the time of admission.
