MH CET Law 2020 - As predicted here, Directorate of Higher Education, Maharashtra has postponed MH CET law 2020 exam for 5-year integrated program, which was scheduled for April 12. The decision was taken in view of the 21-day country-wide lock-down announced by the government to contain the spread of coronavirus. Admit card for the exam will also not be released on March 27. The official notification says a new schedule for all upcoming events will be notified soon on its official website. MH CET law 2020 exam will be conducted in online mode. The application form for five year LLB under MHCET law 2020 closed on March 06. The application form of MH CET law 3-year LLB is open now and can be filled until May 6. COVID-19: MH CET law exam for 5-year program has been postponed in view of 21-day lock-down
As per the MHCET law exam pattern 2020, the entrance test will be an objective question type test, consisting of 150 questions. Candidates will be given two-hours to attempt the test, which will include questions from various subjects such as Legal aptitude, Legal reasoning, General knowledge, Maths, English and reasoning. The result of MHCET law for five year LLB will be released on May 15 whereas, the result for 3-year LLB will be released on July 14, which will be followed by the counselling and seat allotment process.Important - DHE Maharashtra has activated the MH CET law mock test link. The conducting body has prescribed the eligibility criteria for both 3-year LLB and 5-year LLB. Candidates looking for admissions to the law courses offered by the MHCET law participating institutes must ensure that they meet the required eligibility criteria as mentioned below.
Educational Qualification - Candidate should have completed Intermediate or any equivalent exam (for eg. 3-year diploma in engineering) from any recognized board or university.
Candidates who have completed their senior secondary or obtained first-degree certificate through distance education or correspondence method are also eligible to apply for MH CET Law, provided such candidates have already acquired basic qualification (class - 10th, class - 9th) before completing the minimum required qualification i.e. class - 12th.
Educational Qualification - Candidate should be a graduate in any discipline from a recognized university. Further, candidates should note that the 10+2+3 pattern is mandatory for MH CET Law 3-year LLB.
Candidates having a degree from the open university, recognized by UGC are also eligible.
The conducting body has also set some minimum standards in terms of the minimum required marks in the qualifying exam and are applicable to all candidates appearing for 3-year LLB or 5-year LLB. The details are given in the table.

Candidates can fill the application form of MHCET law 2020 in online mode. The application form for 5-year LLB has been closed, while the applications for 3-year LLB will commence has been released on March 19. To apply for MHCET law 2020, candidates will have to register at the admission portal of CET Cell, Maharashtra and fill the application form along with uploading the documents. Once the application form is filled, candidates will be required to pay the application form fee. The MHCET law application form 2020 can be filled in the following steps.
Basic information - Register at the admission portal by providing personal information such as name, contact details, email id.
Photo and Signature Upload - Candidate will need to upload the scanned photo (20kb - 50 kb) and signature (10kb - 20kb) in .jpg format.
Details - In this section candidate will have to fill the details such as category, domicile, centre of examination preference, date of birth, parents name, address details and others.
Education qualification - Candidate will have to provide all the educational qualification details in this section such as 10th, 12th and graduation marks, year of passing, school name, university name etc.
Preview of MH CET Law application form 2020 - Once the application form is filled in totality, candidate can take a preview of it. The preview will show all the details provided by the candidate. After verifying that all details are correct and authenticate, the candidate can move for payment section.

The Maharashtra law colleges will offer seats on the basis of reservation criteria. To get the benefits of reservation, candidates will have to apply for category reservation at the time of registration and filling-up of MH CET Law 2020 application form.
Candidates should that category reservation benefits will be available to only those who are domiciled in the state of Maharashtra. Other candidates from outside of Maharashtra will have to apply under general category. The category-wise reservation criteria is mentioned below.
The conducting body will release the admit card of MH CET Law 2020 separately for both 3-year LLB and 5-year LLB courses. Candidates will be able to download admit card from the official CET website (alternatively, the download link will be provided in this section). MH CET Law admit card 2020 is an important document for sitting in the MH CET Law entrance exam. It will contain information regarding MH CET Law exam 2020 like exam centre, exam date, timings, exam instructions along with candidates name, category and other important information. To download MH CET Law 2020 admit card, candidates will need to follow a few steps as given below.

While filling the online applications candidates can pick a maximum of 3 choices (centres), preferably in the order of priority. MH CET Law 2020 exam centres will be made available throughout the state of Maharashtra and in some major cities outside Maharashtra, While filling the exam centre choice, candidates should select the exam centres in the order of preference. The conducting body will not entertain any request for change of exam centre once MH CET application form is filled and submitted by the candidate.

The conducting body has prescribed an exam pattern of MH CET 2020 through the official information brochure. For both undergraduate programmes, MH CET Law exam pattern 2020 will be the same only syllabus will differ in some aspects. The entrance test will be conducted in online mode and 150 objective type questions will be asked in the test. Candidates will be given 120 minutes to attempt the test. While most of the sections of the syllabus are common for both the undergraduate programme. The 5-year LLB will have maths as an additional section. Moreover, exam standard will also vary as per the requirement of the programme. For eg. in 3-year LLB, questions will be prepared to keep graduation level in mind and in 5-year LLB question paper will be of intermediate level.

The CET CELL, Maharashtra will release MH CET Law 2020 result on the official website of CET. The result for MH CET Law 5-year LLB will be released on May 15, 2020, while the result for MH CET Law 3-year LLB will be declared on July 14, 2020. The result declaration will be accompanied by the release of the rank cards, which will contain information like the name of the candidate, category, combined rank/all India rank, marks, and qualifying status etc.
Following the result declaration, CET Cell, Maharashtra will release the MH CET Law merit list 2020. Candidates who feature in the merit list will have to attend MH CET Law counselling. The MH CET law merit list will be released separately for 5-year and 3-year law programs and will be category-specific. The merit list will be prepared using marks on MH CET law 2020 exam; so to get a high merit rank, one must get a good score.

MH CET Law counselling 2020 counselling and seat allotment will start after the declaration of results, at the final stage. Candidates who were found eligible as per the merit list released by the authorities will be called for counselling. The counselling process involves a series of steps like candidates’ online registration, collecting admission letter, remitting the counselling fees and then finally submitting the original documents. There will be multiple rounds of counselling. And, the total number of counselling rounds will depend on how much seats are left vacant after each round of counselling
The seat allotment will be based on the parameters of merit cum preference and availability of seats. Candidates scoring higher marks and finding better rank will be given preference on seat allotment as they will have more options while selecting colleges.
After each round of counselling, all participating colleges of MH CET Law will release category wise cut off list separately for both 3-year LLB and 5-year LLB programmes. The cut off will depend on multiple factors like the number of candidates appearing for MH CET Law exam, difficulty level of the paper, the number of seats available for admission etc. Below the general category cutoff for last year is given in a table, candidate’s may refer to previous year cutoff to understand what minimum rank they will need to achieve for admissions to different law colleges in Maharashtra.
