TS LAWCET 2024 Topper Interview: It was a momentous occasion for Talluri Naresh when he secured 3rd rank in the TS LAWCET 2024 3-year LLB exam. Success is nothing new for Naresh and he has been a seasoned achiever. Naresh also secured 2nd rank in the TS LAWCET 3-year LLB exam 2023. When asked about what made him pursue law, the TS LAWCET topper told he had interest in law before, but what made him pursue law academically was a legal case related to their ancestral land in the village. An engineering graduate, Naresh is now aiming to start his LLB education from NLSIU Bengaluru next year.
The TS LAWCET 2024 exam was conducted on June 3, 2024. The TS LAWCET results were declared on June 13, 2024.
Careers360 got in conversation with the TS LAWET 2024 topper for an interactive interview. Here are some excerpts from the interview.
Q. How did you feel when you saw your rank? Did you expect this rank?
Ans: Even though I got state 2nd rank in TS LAWCET 2023, this time I felt more happy after seeing my result. The reason being, this time I did not revise the legal aptitude section and also did not follow current affairs thoroughly.
Q. Can you briefly tell us about your educational and family background?
Ans: I completed my B.Tech in Civil Engineering from CBIT, Hyderabad. I am from Khammam district of Telangana.
Q. What made you choose to pursue law?
Ans: Even though I studied engineering following the trend then, my interest is towards arts from childhood. After I started my career as an Engineer, I realised that it’s not my cup of tea. Gradually I started preparation for other arts-related exams and finally decided to pursue law after a case was filed against our family's land in the village. It was one of the pushing factors behind my decision to pursue law.
Q. Can you shed light on your section-wise preparation strategy for the TS LAWCET 2024 exam?
Ans: Solving problems during intermediate (MPC) and Engineering helped with aptitude. Coming to current affairs, I read The Hindu newspaper daily. I was quite confident of the Legal aptitude, because of legal cases initiated by our opposite party in the legal case I mentioned earlier.
Q. Did you take any coaching or help from online classes?
Ans: I did not join any coaching classes. But, I received a lot of help from my advocate friends.
Q. What books would you prefer for students preparing for upcoming session. Also, are sample papers and mock tests helpful?
Ans: Solving previous papers and understanding the difficulty llevel of the questioning will help. For legal aptitude, I suggest reading Polity by Laxmikant sir. Also, follow the legal terms from The Hindu articles on courts and court cases.
Q. Which colleges are you targeting for admission?
Ans: I am planning to study for my law degree from NLU, Bengaluru from next academic year. I do not have any specific preferences for TS LAWCET.
Q. Did you appear for any other law entrance exams? If yes, how was your performance and which colleges are you targeting?
Ans: No, I did not appear for any other law entrance exams this year,
Q. What are your future plans?
Ans: I am planning to train a few aspirants for the next TS LAWCET exam and in the long term switch my career from Engineering to Law.
Q. What advice would you like to give to law aspirants preparing for TS LAWCET?
Ans: Read The Hindu daily. It will help a lot. Daily 1-2 hours of preparation for 6 months is more than enough.

Hey Khursheed:)
Thanks for reaching out!
With a 189 rank in TS LAWCET under BC-E your chances depends on the course .For the 3-year LLB at Osmaina University, the round 1 cutoff was around 210,so your rank is well within range and you still stand a good chance of getting a seat in the next rounds if not allotted. But for 5-year LLB course, the cut-off was around 100, which means 189 is outside the limit and Osmania is not within reach.
Keep Osmaina on top of your web options for the 3-year program in phase-2,but also select other good colleges as backups so you don't miss out on admission.

Best of luck!
Hello,
Thanks for reaching out!
First of all, congrats on scoring 721 rank in TS LAWCET for 5-Year Law Program. That’s a good rank, especially considering that you belong to the EWS category, which has a separate reservation quota.
Admission to Kakatiya University or its affiliated colleges will depend on category-wise cutoff, seat availability, and college preferences during counselling.
In previous years, candidates with ranks around 700–1000 in EWS have gotten admission into affiliated law colleges of Kakatiya University, though main campus seats are more competitive.
If you don’t get the main campus, go for a good affiliated law college under KU.
All the best!

With a TS LAWCET Rank of 222 in the BCE category, your chances of getting a free seat in the 5- year LLB at Osmania University are low
•The expected BCE cut-off for 5-year LLB at OU is around rank 100 or below, and your rank goes beyond that
Good Opportunity:
•However, for the 3-year LLB at OU,The BCE cut-off is around 280,so you do have a good chance there for 3 year course.
•You can also try for other government colleges like Kakatiya University or PG College of Law where BC-E cutoff are closer to your rank.
So, while your chances for the 5-year LLB program at OU are low,you have a good chance of getting into 3-year LLB there.

If you want to join Osmania University for the 5-year law course after 12th through TS LAWCET,under the BC-D category a good score would be in the range of 80-90 out of 120 .though you could get admission with around 70-75 but 80+ is safer for a better rank.
Usually top 200-500 gives you a good chance at Osmaina, one of the top law college in Telengana.
