The Common Law Admission Test is the toughest law entrance exam in India. Every year around 50,000 candidates appear for the entrance exam which offers around 4000 NLU seats. The CLAT exam was conducted in offline mode on December 1, 2024. The maximum marks in the CLAT exam are 120. There are no passing marks in CLAT 2025. The Consortium of NLUs has not specified any passing marks for the entrance exam. The NLU admissions through CLAT 2025 will be done based on the CLAT ranks. The CLAT 2025 counselling will be conducted in five rounds. Before each round of seat allotment, the consortium will release the CLAT 2025 merit list. Students will be allotted seats in NLUs based on their ranks, category and NLU preferences.
To understand their chances of admission, candidates must understand what marks will translate to what ranks. On a rough estimate, a CLAT score of above 90 marks will land up candidates a rank less than 1000. A detailed analysis of CLAT marks vs rank 2025 has been given below:

Given the difficulty level of the CLAT exam, a score of 90+ is a really good score. Candidates with a score of more than 90+ can expect their ranks under 1000.
