The Consortium of National Law Universities is expected to publish the revised CLAT 2025 results soon. As per an earlier order issued by the Delhi HC, two answers in the CLAT 2025 final answer key have been revised. This revision will change a candidate’s CLAT 2025 result and is expected to cause a significant shift in the candidate’s rank on the merit list. In this article, let’s see how much a candidate’s rank can drop in the worst-case scenario.
Whether a candidate’s rank drops significantly in the CLAT merit list will depend on which option the candidate had marked for the two questions revised by the Delhi HC. The answer to Q.no 14 (Set A) was changed, while Q.no 100 (Set A) was withdrawn. There are several possibilities here, which are given below.
Q. 14 - Answer Changed from Option D to C
Candidate did not attempt the question - In this case, there will not be any change in the rank
Candidate marked an option other than C or D- In this case, there will not be any change in the rank.
Candidate marked Option D - In this case, the candidate’s marks will decrease, causing a decline in the rankings.
Candidate marked Option C - In this case, the candidate’s marks will see a significant increase and a corresponding rise in rankings

Candidate marked Option D - In this case, the candidate’s score will be reduced, causing a decline in the rankings.
Candidate marked an option other than D: Candidate marks will increase as the negative marks will be added back to the candidate’s final score, causing an increase in the candidate’s rankings.
The tables below show how the candidate’s final score in CLAT 2025 will change
Candidate’sAnswer | Marks Awarded after court order | Impact on Negative Marks Due to Revision | Impact on Final CLAT 2025 Score |
Did not attempt | Nil | Nil | Nil |
If your answer is C | +1 mark | +0.25 marks | +1.25 marks |
