The Symbiosis Laws schools operate their aptitude test namely SLAT i.e. Symbiosis Law Aptitude Test for a candidate to be eligible for entrance in any of these four Law institutions. This test is specifically designed for admission to the Undergraduate course and is conducted as a computer-based test held virtually.

SLAT 2024 is administered on a national level and the medium of the test is English for all the sections. The total number of marks in the SLAT exam is 60 and the cut-off for the same may vary from year to year based on the intensity and difficulty level of the questions. The exam contains Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) which consist of four options each out of which one option is to be chosen accurately. Furthermore, every correct answer shall be allotted one mark each. There are no criteria for negative marking to the incorrect answers.

Exam Pattern of SLAT 2024

The SLAT exam consists of majorly Five major sections based on which a candidate is evaluated known as, Logical Reasoning, Analytical Reasoning, Legal Reasoning, Reading Comprehension and General Knowledge. The marks weightage of all these five sections is as mentioned below:

1. Logical Reasoning: The Logical Reasoning section, examines based on understanding facts and information, decision-making ability and logically arriving at solutions.
2. Analytical Reasoning: The Analytical Reasoning section, works according to the interpreting ability of connections between various elements.
3. Legal Reasoning: The Legal Reasoning section, tests an individual’s capacity to implement legal concepts and reasoning skills.
4. Reading Comprehension: The Reading Comprehension section, analyses the comprehension power of a person provided in the form of written paragraphs and passages.
5. General Knowledge: The General Knowledge section, includes topics regarding current affairs along with static GK and dynamic GK.
6. Mathematics: Yes, there are questions related to mathematics as well. Moreover, the difficulty level of these questions is only up to 12th standard i.e. basic maths. The area of topics asked concerning the mathematics questions are as follows:

• Algebra.

• Percentage.

• Time and work.

• Time and distance.

• Profit and loss.

How To Prepare For SLAT WAT and PI

However, the main exam, i.e., SLAT, is just one of the aspects of the evaluation. There are other components attached to the selection procedure as well which are WAT(Written Ability Test ) and Personal Interview. Lets go through these points in detail for slat wat and pi preparation tips

1. SLAT (Symbiosis Law Aptitude Test): The entrance test that is of 60 marks as mentioned above.

2. SLAT WAT (Written Ability Test): Now the question arises How to prepare for a SLAT written ability test?

   The written ability test is conducted after the main exam of the SLAT which comprises an online essay writing test weighing 20 marks. The topics for these essays are compiled from Current Affairs, Social Issues, Business Studies, History Etc. For example, Discuss the impact of social media on Freedom of Speech and Expression under Article 19 of The Constitution of India.

• Keep yourself updated regarding general knowledge and current affairs: in the return aptitude test that is WAT. Take a brief pause and reply that you are unaware of this matter and will work on it so that when next time this question pops up any other time will be able to answer it. do not answer any questions in a hurry. Listen to it, compose the answer and then deliver it .

Therefore, a candidate is analysed based on (SLAT + SLAT WAT + SLAT PI).

Further, once all three tests are completed successfully, with the summation of the aggregate scores of all three tests, a candidate is qualified to be admitted to the Symbiosis Law School and allotted different branches of Symbiosis Schools according to their SLAT scores Also, as mentioned previously, the passing criteria for these tests may vary every year.
