The Delhi High Court will hear all the CLAT 2025 cases on April 7, 2025. The cases have been transferred to the Delhi HC to speed up the resolution and start the CLAT 2025 counselling. In its last hearing, the HC ordered that the cases about CLAT UG and CLAT PG should be grouped separately with proper details about each case. This will further help in the faster resolution of the matter. So, will CLAT counselling 2025 start in April? In this article, find out what candidates can expect to happen in the coming weeks.
On April 7, the Delhi HC will take up pending cases about CLAT 2025 that have been listed for hearing as per the last court order issued on March 3. In the revised list of pending cases, two new cases, namely Shivraj Sharma vs Consortium of NLUs and Yajat Sen Vs Consortium of NLUs have been added. Earlier, in December, the Delhi HC had directed the consortium to publish the revised CLAT 2025 result after two answer keys were modified following the petition filed by Aditya Singh.
Prior to the SC order, all the cases were pending at different High Courts across the country. The cases have been transferred to a single court for faster resolution of the disputes. Click on the link given in the table below to know what the cases listed for hearing at the Delhi HC are about.

CLAT 2025 cases |
The HC has reaffirmed its commitment to resolving the cases as fast as possible. At the same time, the court has also said in its earlier verdict that no deserving candidate should be denied their rightful place in the CLAT 2025 merit list due to mistakes in the answer key and inaccurate results.
Considering that the cases have already dragged on for over four months and the next admissions season is around the corner, candidates can expect that the HC will come up with a final verdict on the matter very soon.
It is the million-dollar question for which every candidate who appeared for CLAT wants an answer. As per the original schedule, the CLAT 2025 counselling process was to end in May 2025 with the publication of fourth and fifth seat allotment. If the Delhi HC issues a clear verdict on April 7, then the counselling process can be started immediately, and the Consortium would still be able to stick to its original schedule of completing the counselling process by May 2025.
If one looks at the CLAT 2025 admission timeline, then it can be seen that the CLAT notification came out in July 2024. It has been the trend for the last few years. If the notification of CLAT 2026 is to be published in July 2025, then it can be expected that the CLAT 2025 counselling is expected to start in April to give enough time for the consortium to make preparations for the next Common Law Admission Test.
Whether CLAT 2025 counselling will start in April 2025 will ultimately be determined by the following factors:
Delhi HC verdict on April 7
Timeline for the CLAT 2026 admission process
Consortium’s stance towards the court verdict - whether to accept or challenge it
Petitioning candidates’ stands towards the court verdict - whether to accept or challenge it.
