The CLAT 2026 results were officially declared by the consortium on December 16, 2025, in the late evening hours, as per past year trends. The results were made available around 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM on December 16, 2025. This pattern is also familiar from previous cycles. For instance, CLAT 2025 was released on December 7, 2024, around 11 PM, and CLAT 2024 results were released on December 10, 2023, in the night hours. For the Undergraduate (UG) test, evaluation was based on 119 marks instead of 120, as one question was withdrawn in the final answer key. Candidates can download their official scorecards by logging into the Consortium of NLUs portal using their registered mobile number and password. A total of 88,657 candidates appeared for the exam, which was held on December 7, 2025, reflecting an overall attendance of 96.01%.

The registration for the CLAT 2026 admissions counselling process officially opened on December 17, 2025, at 6:00 PM, following the result declaration on December 16. The counselling process is a centralised online process managed by the Consortium of National Law Universities. This centralised online process is mandatory for all eligible candidates seeking admission to the 24 participating NLUs. The registration process has begun, and eligible candidates who meet the cut-off scores and are included in the merit list must register to participate.
Log in with CLAT credentials on the official CLAT Consortium website: consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
Navigate to the counselling registration section.
Fill in the required details and choose the preferred NLUs and courses.
Pay the counselling fee: Rs 30,000 (general/OBC), Rs 20,000 (SC/ST/PWD).
Fill NLU preferences in order of choice.
Submit the choices and wait for seat allotment results.
If allotted a seat, confirm admission by paying the required fee within the deadline.
