National Law University Meghalaya (NLU Meghalaya) published a notification informing that it has now been admitted as a member of the Consortium of National Law Universities. Starting from the academic year 2026-2027, it is going to accept CLAT 2026 scores for admissions. NLU Meghalaya offers BA LLB, BBA LLB, BS LLB and LLM courses. The university earlier conducted its own entrance exam for admission. NLU Meghalaya is set to conduct the university-governed counselling process for shortlisting candidates for the academic year 2026-2027 only. They will soon release the detailed notice about the application timelines, eligibility criteria, counselling schedules, and more details on their official website. This article details the NLU Meghalaya admission notice 2026-2027 and other important changes in the admission process.

NLU Meghalaya merit list release | March 2026 |
NLU Meghalaya released an admission notification on January 13, 2026, stating its admission as one of the members of the consortium. It will now accept CLAT 2026 results for admission to its law programs starting from January 2026. Candidates must submit their scores once the NLU Megh application process starts. The university is likely to start the application portal in January or February 2026. Admissions will be directly conducted by NLU Meghalaya for the academic year 2026. Candidates can apply on the official website of the university, nlumeg.ac.in.
NLU Meghalaya used to conduct its own university-level entrance exam known as the NLU MEG PAT for admission to its undergraduate and postgraduate law programs. This exam is now discontinued as NLU Meghalaya is now a part of the consortium. Therefore, candidates must submit their scores from the CLAT 2026 exam for admissions from the academic year 2026-2027. The CLAT 2026 exam was conducted on December 7, 2025, in offline mode across India. The CLAT 2026 results were declared on December 16, 2026. Candidates who have appeared for CLAT 2026 and obtained a valid rank will now be eligible to apply for admission to NLU Meghalaya through its separate counselling process for the 2026–27 session.
The NLU Meghalaya admission notice 2026 states that for the academic year 2026-2027, they will conduct a university-managed admission and counselling process, strictly on the basis of CLAT 2026 ranks. From academic year 2027-2028, they will follow the centralised CLAT 2026 counselling process. NLU Meghalaya will soon release the counselling schedule on its official website. Candidates will be shortlisted based on their performance in CLAT 2026. The university will then release the merit list on its official website, including the names of the shortlisted candidates.
