CLAT is Common Law Admission Test, a standardized test for law school admission in India. CLAT is conducted by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) for admission to its various programs - Indian School of Business, IIM Calcutta, IIM Ahmedabad, and IIM Bangalore.
The test consists of three sections- Verbal Ability Test, Reading Comprehension, and Quantitative Aptitude. The IIMs, which conduct the test, release a list of six or seven institutes to which the candidate can apply. The candidates then fill up the application forms and send them to the respective institutes. Seats are filled in various private universities as well as government institutions in India.
