The Consortium of National Law Universities will release the CLAT 2025 final answer key on December 9, 2024. However, even before the final answer key of CLAT is published, it has run into controversies and has become a major talking point.
Experts have pointed out that in the Common Law Admission Test for UG conducted on December 1, there are 4 incorrect questions. Moreover, in the CLAT UG 2025 provisional answer key that was published on December 2, experts say, at least two answers are incorrect. If found to be true, these discrepancies are likely to change the final marks out of which the CLAT result 2025 will be declared.
If the 4 incorrect questions are removed, then the total marks in CLAT will be 116 marks and not 120 marks. Similarly, due to the presence of two incorrect answers in the provisional answer key, the responses will be modified.
In the case of CLAT PG, the matter has reached the Supreme Court where two candidates have filed a plea suing the Consortium of NLUs. They allege that there are 12 incorrect answers in the CLAT PG provisional answer key. The petitioners have sought to stay the release of the CLAT PG result until the mistakes in the answer key are rectified. Their petition also challenges the 24-hour objection window, which they say is a very limited time, and also the Rs 1000 objection fee which they consider to be too high.
A possible outcome of these controversies could be that the release of the CLAT 2025 final answer key and the publication of the CLAT 2025 result may get delayed. Further details are awaited. For the convenience of readers, the table given below provides the marking scheme as per the CLAT exam pattern prescribed by the consortium.
