If you look at the previous years' cut-off trends, the tier 1 NLUs especially NLSIU Bangalore, NALSAR Hyderabad and WBNUJS Kolkata fill their general category seats with candidates scoring 96+.
Competition for these NLUs remains super stiff and a majority of seats are filled in the initial rounds of counselling.
From the remaining top-ranked NLUs, NLU Jodhpur, and GNLU Gandhinagar come fifth and sixth respectively. Candidates with the general category getting 93-96 CLAT marks should aim for these NLUs. In this range of CLAT marks, the corresponding CLAT rank will go 300-570.
Upon comparing the CLAT marks with the previous year’s cut-off data, we can see 90 marks translating into a CLAT rank of 1102, and the candidate secured admission to NLU Odisha.
In conclusion, CLAT marks 90-100 should translate roughly into rank 1-1100, with 1100 rank indicating a CLAT score close to 90.
Now if we look at the CLAT BA LLB cut-offs, NLU Agartala had the highest general category cut-off of 2243 among all NLUs last year. Indicating candidates have a good chance of securing admission to NLUs with CLAT marks of 90-100.
Based on the available data, and simple interpolation of data, the CLAT rank for various ranges of marks has been calculated below. The same has been compared to the available NLUs cutoffs and given above.
CLAT marks | Corresponding rank |
CLAT marks 90-93 | 560-1102 |
CLAT marks 93-96 | 230-560 |
CLAT marks 96+ | 1-230 |
Considering that the top-ranked NLUs are the most sought-after among all universities, candidates are advised to look for the chances of getting into these NLUs over the tier 3 NLUs.

Hello,
In CLAT , the 9-digit admit card number is not the same as the roll number you have to write on the OMR sheet. The OMR sheet has only 7 blocks because the CLAT roll number is shorter.
You should check your admit card again and look for the roll number printed near your name and exam details. Fill only that roll number in the OMR sheet. Do not write the 9-digit admit card number.
If you still cannot find the roll number, you can ask the exam invigilator on the exam day.
Hope it helps !
