How to balance CLAT and NLAT preparation
Candidates who were looking for CLAT as a gateway to NLSIU will now have to appear in NLAT. Though they can still appear in CLAT which still has 21 national law universities. For candidates who are targeting NLSIU for admission may find it difficult to prepare for NLAT in short notice. However, if we look at the NLAT exam structure and syllabus which is same as given in CLAT, one may handle this exam while also appearing for CLAT. Some of the important preparation tips are given below which may help you in balancing CLAT and NLAT at the same time.
Don't buy any additions books for NLAT - With the syllabus of NLAT being the same as that of CLAT and both the exams asking similar types of questions, you don't need to look for any extra study material. Assume that CLAT 2020 has been preponed to September 12 and give your best in the final few days.
Try solving mock tests - The NLSIU will release the mock tests tomorrow which the candidates can also access from this page. Try to solve 4-5 mock tests before going to the examination. The difficulty level of NLAT is going to be the same as given in CLAT mock tests, so you can also attempt the mock tests of CLAT.
Keep NLAT marking scheme into consideration - One of the biggest trap for the candidates is in the marking scheme of NLAT. If you give the correct answer, 2 marks will be awarded and in case the answer goes wrong, a negative marking of 0.50 will be applicable.
But, note that if you are focusing on accuracy and bringing down the possibility of negative marking, it won't help in NLAT. In case a question is left unanswered, it will be subject to a negative marking of 0.25. So, you are actually in a catch-22. The midway is still focusing on the accuracy, less negative marking is better than more negative marking. However, it doesn't mean attempting 20 questions correctly out of 40 is a solution. This will effectively bring down the score at 35 which is not a good score considering the 120 BA LLB and 50 LLM seats in NLSIU.
NLAT 2020 Eligibility Criteria
The university has prescribed the same eligibility criteria as followed in the Common Law Admission Test. There are no changes in the NLAT 2020 application form.

can i get admission in LLB from nlsiu Bangalore without B.A., as I am already graduate in BA?
First of all law programs are of two types, first is integrated law such as BA-LLB,BCom-LLB,BBA-LLB, BCA-LLB etc, these are for a duration of five years and basically its eligibility criteria is based on 10+2 qualification if I specifically talk about NLUs then it doens't offer LLB which is for a duration of three years, and its eligibility criteria is based on passed graduation in any stream from a recognized university with 45-50% depending upon the norms of the university, now coming to your question as I said NLSIU, Bangalore only offers integrated law courses, hence any candidate willing to take admission have to pursue the full five years program, there is no such lateral entry here if that's what you meant , anyway there are many top entrance tests which you can apply for DU LLB, BHU UET, LSAT, LAT , MAH CET LAW, TS LAWCET, AP LAWCET, KLEE to name a few.
i am doing my intermediate from humanities .. can i pursue bba llb if i get selected to any of the following colleges 1: nlsiu banglore ,2: nlu bhopal nd 3: nlu hyderabad?
