The Bar Council of India has announced the All India Bar Examination results 2025. Candidates can now access their results and check their qualification status. Successful candidates will soon receive the Certificate of Practice (CoP), effectively making them advocates, eligible to practice in Indian courts.
According to the AIBE results statistics, 2.51 Lakh law graduates appeared for the exam held on November 30. Of these, 1.74 Lakh have qualified – a pass percentage of 69.21%. The OMR sheets of three students were not counted. The next AIBE is scheduled to be held on June 07. Those who have completed LLB or are in the final year of graduation can appear in the exam. There is no limit on the number of attempts one can give, so those who could not cross the bar this time can reappear in the next AIBE.

Meanwhile, the data provided by the Bar Council of India shows a heavy male domination in the examination, with nearly twice the number of female candidates. Even from the qualification scenario, 1.74 Lakh candidates qualified; of these, 1.13 Lakh are male candidates. Female candidates accounted for just 61310.

Another interesting aspect revealed by the AIBE results is the passing percentage. AIBE is generally considered an exam designed to test basic legal skills. Candidates are allowed to take assistance from the Bare Acts with short notes during the exam. Despite this, 30% candidates (77,579) failed to clear the AIBE exam.
The data shows that 1.25 Lakh candidates were from the general category. The OBC were the second highest, with a participation of 82,661 candidates. This was followed by SC and ST candidates.

Recently, BCI made the undertaking students eligible to appear in the AIBE. This decision has enabled 79,039 students to appear in the examination. Of these, 58,772 have qualified, and 20,377 still failed in the examination. The pass percentage of these students stood at 74,22%, much higher than the national average of 69.21%.
Among the states, UP, Maharashtra & Goa, Delhi and Rajasthan lead in terms of enrollment. 10 state bar councils have recorded a higher pass percentage than the national average. The states leading in terms of pass percentage include the Bar Councils of Tamil Nadu & Puducherry, Punjab & Haryana, Delhi, Meghalaya, Kerala, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh and the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir.
Jharkhand, Gujarat and Chhattisgarh bar councils have less than 50% pass percentage, placing them among the three lowest performing states.
