HPNET 2019 – Himachal Pradesh National Law University for the year 2019 will be offering admissions to its undergraduate law programmes through CLAT 2019 as it will not be conducting HPNET 2019. HPNLU has now been introduced in the CLAT Consortium and considered as one of the participating NLU of the Common Law Admission Test. Candidates seeking admissions into the undergraduate and postgraduate law programmes namely - BA LLB, BBA LLB (Hons.) and LLM need to appear in national level law examination and qualify it at the same time to secure a seat in the desired law programmes. HPNET 2019 will be conducted in as many as 19 cities of India offering 69 seats for BA LLB/BBA LLB (Hons.) and 23 seats for LLM programme. In this law entrance examination of Himachal Pradesh National Entrance Test, applicants were earlier given 150 questions from different topics related to law and candidates were awarded one mark for each correct answers and 0.25 deduction for wrong answers. Questions in the test paper would be of objective nature where candidates will be provided with four options out of which one correct option has to be marked by the aspirants of HPNET 2019. HPNET 2019 – Admission Process
Himachal Pradesh National Law University commences it’s admission process with the issue of exam notification by the third week of January 2019 followed by the commencement of application form in the fourth week of January 2019. After the end of application form in the second week of April 2019, candidates are issued admit card by the first week of May 2019. By getting the access of the admit card, candidates appear in the law examination by the third week of May 2019. Candidates get their result and who qualifying ones are issued their result by the first week of June followed by the counselling procedure to conducted by the university.
Himachal Pradesh National Law University will announce the HPNET 2019 Important Dates by the third week of January 2019. Candidates to appear in HPNET 2019 are advised to keep a track of the HPNET Important Dates 2019 to stay updated on the events related to the law entrance examination. Candidates appearing in the law examination will get to know the eligibility criteria of HPNLET 2019 after the announcement of the HPNET Application Form 2019. Himachal Pradesh National Law University administered exam’s eligibility will mention the following -
If a candidate wants to seek admission into the undergraduate law programmes need to obtain 10+2 examination degree from any recognized board with atleast 50% in aggregate of the subjects.
For the ones appearing in HPNET 2019 to seek admission into LLM programme need to possess a LL.B. Degree from any recognised University with a minimum of 55% in the qualifying degree.
There is no age bar to appear in HPNET 2019.
HPNLU will open window of the application form of HPNET 2019 by the fourth week of January 2019. Candidates will get access of the HPNET Application Form 2019 in online mode for both the undergraduate and postgraduate law programmes. Candidates will be required to first register themselves by following certain steps related to entering the name, date of birth, e-mail id and mobile number. After filling the required details, a validation link will be send to candidate’s email id enabling them to start illing the LSAT India Application Form 2019. After successfully filling the application form providing the required details, candidates will be required to remit a certain application fees via any of the convenient online payment options– Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Net Banking leading to successful submission of the HPLNET 2019 Application Form by the second week of April 2019.

Himachal Pradesh National Law University will release the admit card of HPNET 2019 by the first week of May 2019. HPNET 2019 Admit Card will be accessible to the law aspirants in online mode through their registered accounts. The hall ticket issued by the university is an important document for the candidates as it is the hall ticket to appear in the law examination also because it mentions all the important details like the name of the candidates, examination date, roll number, exam duration besides timing and venue. It should also be noted that no candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall with the hall ticket of HPNET 2019.
HPNLET 2019 will be conducted in the third week of May 2019 to offer admissions to the candidates into the undergraduate and postgraduate law programmes. As per the paper pattern, candidates will be given 120 minutes of time to solve 150 multiple choice questions of 1 marks wherein 0.25 negative marking for each wrong answers. The questions in the law examination will be based on mostly legal topics Constitutional Law, Law of Contract, Law of Torts, Family Law, Criminal Law, Public International Law, Jurisprudence, Corporate Law, Intellectual Property Right Law and an Essay on Contemporary Legal Problems including General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, English Comprehensive and Legal Awareness and Reasoning that will complete the law paper. Moreover, besides these subjects, there will also be a paper on Contemporary Legal Problems and will be of 30 marks.
After the conduct of the law examination, HPNLET 2019 candidates will be issued answer key of HPNET 2019 by the third week of May 2019 for both the undergraduate and postgraduate law programmes. With the help of HPNET 2019 Answer Key, candidates would be able to cross check their answers marked in the law examination and estimate their marks to be obtained.
HPNLU will announce the result of HPNLET 2019 by the first week of June 2019. Candidates will get access of the HPNET 2019 Result in online mode which will mention the qualifying status and scores obtained in the law examination. After declaring the result, the university will also release a merit list of the qualifying candidates.
After the declaration of the HPNLET Result 2019, the university will announce the cutoff of HPNET 2019. It is the minimum marks required to seek admissions in both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Candidates can take a look here at the cutoff of previous year -

Candidates who score marks as per the merit list and meet the cutoff of HPNET 2019, will be shortlisted for the counselling procedure. Call letters will be issued to the candidates to participate in the HPNET 2019 Counselling. The call letter issued will mention the venue for counselling, the fee structure of the programme chose by the candidate, counselling schedule, documents required and the dress code that has to be maintained while HPNET Counselling 2019.
HPNET Seat Reservation 2019
In undergraduate law programmes BA/BBA LLB, 60 seats will be offered to the law aspirants and for LLM 20 seats will be offered to seek admission into HPNLU. Out of the total sanctioned strength of each course, 25 % seats will be reserved for Himachal Pradesh State Domicile Candidates as per HPNLU Act, 2016.
